Anthropogenic Global Warming = Hoax. The planet has warmed and cooled for eons before man was here and will long after we are gone. The AGW Kool-Aid line forms to the left.

Turn of the century talk does not impress the the today " Me Me " folks. Only the ones who are alive today and will live 91 years will have concerns on a report like this. Which of course makes no sense since they do not vote yet. So we need better info and impacts that will happen sooner. Also this is a best scenario , the worst being that the climate gets hotter for 10 years just enough to melt the polar ice, then gets very cold world wide fast. Which would bring on long lasting Ice Ages.

It is all theory. People are no more damaging to the earth than ants on an ant hill. The earth is a pretty big place. Humans will get thinned out through plauge or mass bombing, but the earth will be just fine.

Then pack up, head east on highway 70, south on I-35, west on I-10 then when you see the palm trees in Calif, stop and buy a new house. Then you got em. Man what are they putting in the beer brots over in Wissy ? Then it could be that cheese place in Alpha.

In the Red River Valley, many years ago, the ice was over a mile thick from a glacier from the north. I wonder how hot it was for how many years to melt ice a mile thick? The melting of course formed Lake Agassiz, its area was larger than all of the modern Great Lakes combined, and held more water than contained by all lakes in the world today. It then took about 1,000 years to dry up the lake. Imagine the alarm if a lake that coverd a large portion of central North America dried up today. Instead, North Dakota has Devils Lake which has tripled in size in the last 20 years. There are roads that were in existence over 100 years ago that are now under 30 feet of water. And yet back in the early 80's, the boat landings were up to a mile from the water.

Please exercise some editorial common sense when putting articles like this in your publication. This is misleading, un-vetted information, backed by unsound science that is an attempt to cower people into buying into the "global warming" fallacy. Shameful.

"The Union of Concerned Scientists released the report ahead of an expected vote Friday on a climate bill in the U.S. House that aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. " Really? There are no reductions in greenhouse gas emissions in this bill. Only slower increases. I am 100% for reducing our dependancy on foreign oil for many reasons, but the climate has nothing to do with it. This bill does nothing to reduce our dependancy so we will continue to remain at the mercy of pricing set by mobster's in the middle east.

It's interesting that it's out JUST BEFORE the house's Cap and trade bill is to be voted on. They are pushing hard and fast to get this passed so they don't have to explain the total effect and cost this will have. For example--at least a 30% increase in your electric bill, gas, fuel oil and gasoline.

They are the same people that can't predict the weather a day in advance. Why would anyone think they can predict the weather that far in the future?

For those of you whom doubt the impact potential, I'll be the one laughing at you in 10 years wearing a t-shirt with the message I told you so. What's next, a refutation on whether or not the earth is round. Hold your tongue until you do scientific research of your own that comes to any different conclusions, otherwise shut up and listen, son. Tom_E wrote: And the sky will fall. When are you going to learn! Did you see dramatization of polar bears floating on a sheet of melting ice in the artic? 4 years ago Al Gore warned that if we didn't act within that year we could not reverse global warming. Forget the myths about the sun or climate cycles causing global change...man is the problem! We need to shut off our air conditioners, stop burning fossil fuels, we must start living like our ancestors did in the 16th century!

These reports are all based on computer driven climate models. These models attempt to turn the earth into a closed system, which it is absolutely not. They are basically garbage in, garbage out programs that have little accuracy and little use in predicting the future states of our planet. But they are great tool for the spread of big government control and nanny state politics. Let the green religion continue!
