So what is happening in India on an annual basis, I read recently, is happening to North America over a 10,000+ year period: The Great Lakes region was depressed by over 1000 feet of glacial ice during the most recent ice age. It is now re-bounding, at a rate about as fast as fingernails grow!
That's what the article said, I wish I could remember where I read it.
