When is enough, enough? Will Movie Massacre finally spur sensible gun control?

Full story: Examiner.com

The Aurora, Colorado massacre should spur commonsense restrictions on gun violence, such as reinstating the ban on assault weapons, limiting capacity of a magazine and microstamping ammo.

This article is an assault on personal liberty and the American Constitution and would fit better in Stalinist Russia the The USA.

The actions of a lone gunman should never be grounds for legislation that is nothing more then collective punishment.

After 20 million innocent people died in WW II did American ban it's participation in overseas wars ?

Do we forget that guns have always been part of the American make up ?

The restriction of personal liberty through meaningless legislation will not stop a sick mind from crating a killing zone in the most innocent of places.

Was the Norway Massacre so long ago that our politicians and the writer of this biased and uneducated article have forgotten the innocents lost on that day was in the most improbable place were gun legislation was already strong.

We don't run towards thunder and lightning nor do we let it discourage us from planting in the fields.

We must demand of our stagnant legislators that they rebuild our economy and repair out cities not restrict the burdens of personal liberty.

If the American way was easy every country would copy our system but our way demands that from time to time we face our burdens of liberty with strength and courage to move forward and not retract from
what built a great nation.

If this author was alive in early America he would have spoke out against separation from England because the burden of freedom was to high a cost in blood and spirit.

Let the weak cower behind the strong because that is where they have always been.

We shall mourn our dead and think of what could have been for all innocent who have been cut down before their time but let no one use their name with disrespect by blaming millions of law abiding gun owners for the actions of a sick mind that gun owner or not we will never understand.

The author of this article is truly a sick and disgusting individual to try to capitalize on the tragedy of this event and to encourage gun control, which ALWAYS leads to more deaths. There is no such thing as "common sense gun control", it's an oxymoron. Common sense says that nutjobs like this guy cannot be prevent from doing bad things, so it's best to be armed and ready to deal with bad people.
Gun Control of any kind = Fewer people able to protect themselves.

Remember after 9/11 we would say "If we have one more attack, we'll lose our freedom and privacy". We meant the Govt would take away our freedom because everyone would agree to more safety and security.

This Batman shooting was one of those "one more attacks".

Obama tried F&F to justify more gun control, but Aurora Colorado cops gave him the Joker.

All shooting rampages are deliberately instigated by police to help them jusfity more weapon control laws.

The problem here with this abberation was a crowd of people who were not armed.

Airline crashes kill hundreds. Trucks are used as weapons to kill. We don't ban airplanes nor trucks. But one person goes berserk with a gun and some want to ban guns and abolish the Second Amendment. It is crazy how easy some are willing to give up their rights, liberty, and freedom, and not even for security because killing will continue.

What would microstamping the ammo do in this case, they already have the alleged shooter arrested, they got the DC sniper arrested, convicted and incarcerated, they got all the shooters of all the big shooting crimes either arrested or shot dead. This is more insane bs, but what it will do is create a nice black market profit for all of us who have stockpiled stuff! Any move by Brock O'Bama to have congress legislate anti-gun measures will spell the doom of the democratic party, who apparently cannot even get democrats to decide how to fund the government, much less make americans pay for illegal health care mandates.

Karen Rubin does not understand the most basic rule of laws. ONLY THE LAW ABIDING FOLLOW THEM! Do stricter drunken driving laws stop drunks from driving? Hell No... The State of New York has some of the strictest gun laws in the USA and they are regularly broken by criminals that could care less about any laws. Anyone intent on commiting an act of violence will find a way somehow. Unarmed victims make the best targets and that's where events like this happen.

This is exactly what I tried to tell these people the other day. A gun can't do a damn thing. It cannot load itself, it cannot aim itself and it cannot pull it's own trigger. Guns are not the problem, nutjobs like this latest guy is! Like the great, American Ted Nugent says; I don't need a piece of paper to tell me I have the right to defend myself. Don't tread on me!
