Prosecutors: Cop pleaded 'Please don't shoot me'

Full story: OregonLive.com

The cop's family deserves for this man to get the worst possible punishment. May God be with his family as they continue to mourn.

Why are we wasting our tax dollars to give this idiot a trial? It was captured on tape that he shot the officer. His lawyers claim he has a history of mental illness and history of drug abuse. The drug abuse was HIS CHOICE! Mental illness, still no excuse. Plenty of help out there if a person truly wants it.

He does deserve the worst possible punishment!

Agreed!! He may have a mental illness but it was probably caused by self induced drug misuse. I hope they fry his ass. Even if they don't, God has a place in hell waiting for him. How could anyone shoot a man begging for his life? God bless his poor family. I hope they didn't sit in court and listen to that recording. That is all they will ever remember.

The shooter must have an evilness inside of him. To look down at a man begging him not to hurt (shoot) him again. And to look him in the face and fire again. Something can't be right. May god bless all that is involved. And may justice ease everyone's pain and worries.

This lawyer who is making the "Mental Illness" arguement needs to be kicked in the balls. How sorry for a professional man to stoop so low. I will be glad when one day lawyers are outlawed

To Jerry Lard's family, friends & supporters:

Jerry Lard is a worthless piece of trash who doesn't deserve to breathe any longer. He was a hideous, disgusting excuse for a human being long before he pulled the trigger and killed Officer Schmidt, robbing that family of a son, a husband and a father.

Jerry Lard's continuing to live, will do no one on this planet any good.

No one that matters, will miss Jerry Lard once they inject his grotesque body with the toxic chemicals that will corrode his veins, cease his lungs, suffocating him and ultimately send his heart into cardiac arrest, ending his life.

And once Jerry Lard is dead, he deserves to be discarded like the disgusting piece of in-human garbage that he is.

Well let me tell you something its harmful for both sides of the families this isn't something that can end at the snap of a finger as you all would hope for. Each member of both parties have feelings. Both parties have kids and family that loves them no matter what. What has been done was not right but its also unfair to judge Mr. Lards family they aren't responsible for his actions he is. Its also unfair to say he's worthless because he's got family. People doesn't always come from the same circle of lives. No matter what lifestyle you have if you have been a victim or a witness to an attack of some sort it does indeed have an impact on your life. Am I saying its okay to kill? Absolutely not. Killing is not a solution just as everyone wants for Mr. Lard this is a non win situation nobody wins at the end bc both the officers side has lost a loved one but Mr. Lards family loses as well. Instead of saying kill the sob as yall say I would hope that this will be a lesson learned for not only himself but maybe others will understand that guns solve nothing running from issues solve nothing killing is so definately not the answer! Let's teach kids the meaning and lead them in the right direction instead of downgrading everyone else. All I can say is may god be with each party involved

I didn't judge Jerry Lard's family or say anything negative about them. I don't know them.

As for my comments regarding murderer Lard.... I stand by them, and I'm sure MOST decent human beings do as well.

And..... if what I have to say about murderer Lard hurts the feelings of his family and friends, my comment to that is.... Truth hurts.

It is you useless worthless drug addicts and thieves that always complain about police officers. Y'all would rather break in people's homes while they are out making a living to support your next fix. When y'all get arrested then y'all always talk about how mistreated y'all were. Stay on the right side of the law and you won't have to worry about them beating your down hauling your butt off to jail!

You might possibly want to go back and reread your post. You did say something negative to his family. You addressed them in your post, as to say they are just as guilty as he is. You also go on to say "anyone that matters" will not miss him. Do you always disregard everyone associated with someone who does wrong? Just a question for you to ponder.

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Scorpio

You're in a very romantic and sentimental state today. You're also feeling quite sensitive and vulnerable, so you won't want to be around anyone you find abrasive or aggressive. If you meet someone for the first time now you'll think they're wonderful and your relationship will always involve putting them on a pedestal. But don't be too idealistic. They are human, remember!
