When demands like this come up its easy to see that we are on the downward side of the slippery slope to oblivion.

Randy is a bonafide nut case who would rather proclaim all fathers guilty of molesting their little girls (very rare) than stop sexual predators from getting back on the streets to molest children.

TtH - Yes. The rot started with giving Jews and Catholics civil rights, then Blacks, then Women. Where will it end?
Sometimes, not often, but sometimes, I'm actually ashamed to be on the political Right. It's when statements such as TtH's are made. Statements that emanate from a part of the Right, but are so very Wrong.

I thought our civil rights already protected against discrimination based upon gender/sex? That, in my mind, would include trans-gender/gender confused/whatever whatever whatever. I didn't think it really mattered on whether you were male, female, male turned female or female turned male, or a hermaphrodite because to discriminate against someone for those reasons is discrimination based on gender/sex. I guess I was wrong.

Sam, most people think that people who are Intersexed are already covered.
They're not.
The recent case in Utah showed that.
Males can't be discriminated against because they are male. Females can't be dicriminated against because they are female. But anyone transitioning, or born Intersexed, they get zero protection. That's Federal Law.
The case also showed that the Price Waterhouse decision, where women couldn't be fired for not looking feminine enough, didn't apply to Transgenders. That's also Federal Law.
Hwg's comment is exactly wrong: TG people want to work, so they don't get arrested for begging. If they do get imprisoned, then the Taxpayer has to pay for their medical treatment. He should really be supporting this legislation. But to him it's really not about the 2c extra per month that covering these people would cost - and that figure's not a hypothetical, that's the measured cost by Insurance companies that do cover it - it's about keeping these people in their proper place.
People like me, though I don't live in Florida, so wouldn't be affected.
But I know so many people who are. The ones who haven't given up yet, despite the hatred and bigotry shown to them, just because their Birth Certificates don't have "F", or "M", but "?".
I know our existence is embarrassing. If you think it's embarrassing for you, you can't imagine how it feels for us. But we have to live with it, or give up and take the easy way out, as so many want us to.
It's your right to discriminate: but it's our right to make sure that you can't pretend we don't exist. It's our right to remind you of your discrimination against us.

That is because people who think outside the pentagon are a nasty word to Repugnicans, who only recognize homophobics. Pretty soon they will be arresting people for not going to church and praying for God to smite all gays like the bible says he will. It's time to rediscover Democracy and throw out Repugnican theocracy.

This is to HERE WE GO:
I tried to post before about the one article where you did a whiney little post about not being able to find apartments because of your little kids. And, you made the same stupid comment about money and plastic surgery.
Most transgender people pay for their surgeries out of their own pockets. This ENDA law would be to ensure that we can keep working and support ourselves. If this fails and I do lose my job because I have no protections, then yes, I would try my hardest to get a hold of your tax dollars so I could live. After all, my intention all along has been to work and take care of myself. If the stupid religious right wants to put me out of work and make it legal for others to do that to me then they should at least take care of me.
Now, on to your other point. Me transitioning cost you- NOTHING!!! I pay for my own meds, my own clothing, my own surgery. You, on the other hand have children. You did not have to petition the government or ask anyones permission to do so. You can not be fired from your job if you have kids. In fact now, you have family leave protected for you. This "pregnancy" is not medically necessary therefore it is considered optional- your choice.(That is what many consider being transgender is- our choice even though it is scientifically proven not to be but for the sake of this argument I will go along with you).
Say I work at the same place you do and you are one of them thar Mormon's and your wife thinks god came to her in a dream and told her to have 14 babies. You think all those kids have an impact on our group health plan?? Hell yes! All along now, this has been your choice, your perceived right as an American citizen that no one can take away.
Next you want ME to educate them and suppliment everything from health care to food stamps to drug treatment programs to car insurance premiums. And them you want to move into my apartment complex so your noisy little brats can keep me awake day and night?
And this is just the kids. How bout you stop having kids?? Does that sound logical to you? What I am doing I am paying for myself, what you are doing- everyone is paying for. What I am doing impacts no one and I am doing to feel complete and happy, what you are doing effects so many people and on top of it you want to stop me from working. Has anyone come to you and told you that you can not have any more children??
