Chuckie, you may not have known who, but chances are some of these virtuous scouts and leaders may have been gay. Some of them may even have liked hot dogs and apple pie. And if the BSA doesn't change its ways, it will rightfully be going the way of the dinosaur.

I do not understand how anyone can think that any form of discrimination is a good thing. I just don't get that mindset.

What these "conservatists" are after isn't worth conserving; campaigning for the separation of the different groups which compose our society can only bring less (not more) of the spirit of fraternity which should be the basis of any nation and, indeed, should be the main goal of all intelligent human beings. It is the very essence of democracy. We've had every kind of right for LGTB citizens here in Argentina for enough time to be able to appreciate their decidedly beneficial effects on our society. Hysteria over the issue is just that; and very sad to contemplate it is.

I pretty much agree with the other posters on their assessment of Chuck Norris.......and the BSA's policy is not over a hundred years old.......but it does need to be changed.

When I was in Boy Scouts (pretty hard not to be when your dad is the scoutmaster), I don't recall any words about gays or atheists (the latter are also prohibited, aren't they?). So I don't know if that would have been a policy or not. Of course, back then (50s and 60s) these were not hot topics.

I must say that some of my fondest memories of scouting was the surreptitious (and shy) boy-on-boy action! I doubt if any national level policy is going to change that.

Chuck needs to leave that decision up to the Boy Scouts.

My step-brother was in Boy Scouts and I don't recall that particular policy either......that's why when this idiot stated it was a hundred years......I was a bit confused.....either way, he's wrong and so is the policy!!!
