I am starting to use your site as a news source. Testing on local newsmagazine for my hometown Monroe, Ohio. http://www.mainstreetmonroe.com .
I have added your news feed.

One question, How can I suggest additional feeds for you to crawl?

In the case of Main Street Monroe, its about Monroe, Ohio yet you are missing the local newspaper source, The Middetown Journal, who covers the town extensively. Today there are 2 big stories on Monroe, Ohio that are not in your feeds:

1. Developer eyes Corridor 75 project
2. Monroe tries levy again on fall ballot

Hi.. as a journalist your site is a great but I find that when a big story or breaking news is happening, your site's front page is still loaded with stories that haven't been updated in several hours. You have a great amount of information but with news changing so quickly... I leave topix.net the minute I need breaking news. Hope you keep improving!

Out town has a population of 10k. When there is breaking news, we post it right away, but breaking news only occurs a few times per week.
You missed the main reason for my post, here it is again:

I utilized Netscape Mail and then Netscape Mail was merged with AOL mail. I preferred the older Netscape Mail as it was not as graphic and took less time to load.

With the AOL service, sometimes I encounter Server Access problems. After trying again later or various times, new messages finnaly appear

On another subject, I want to change my password. Where can a user change their password? I cannot find where to change it? I followed the instructions in the FAQ section but with no luck, I was unable to change it.

You musr be one of the Top Mods (Topix Moderators), which I deduce based on both the fact that you are referring to this as "our" website *AND* the fact that you are also posting from Sunnyvale, CA, th eknown posting place of the Top Mod registered screen name.

I just noticed that the number of comments for registered users is not showing up in the system. Observe:

COMMENTS: I know it has been said before, but it is a pet peev eof mine (and probably others)- the formatting is messed up in some cases, most especially when I try to make an ordered list with the number signs.

Example:

* 1st Item
* 2nd Item
* 3rd Item
* Etc.

Next Example:

#1: 1st Item
#2: 2nd Item
#3: 3rd Item
#4: Etc.

I fully expect the formatting of these two lists to be different, and, if so, this confirms a glitch in the system. Best of luck -or, shall I say, blessings, and also, HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYBODY!!

Comments: Ah, the formatting of both lists is messed up equally: The 1st Item should have encountered a "line break" and been on a new line, but, rather, it is on the same line as the title.

Also, I fully expect that that post might disappear for a few right after I post THIS follow-up, and, yes, I know others have offered feedback, and I know y'all are working on it, but that's my 2 cents' worth, as it appears also to be an issue of relevance.

But, I am unable to sign out: There is no "click here to sign out" link.

Additionally,#2 you still do not have the "sign in" link posted on the web page publicly, although I do know you are working on tha.

Hi Topix Mod, I just recently started noticing the new features as I've been away from here lately. There is alot I seem to like. My question tho is I'm very interested on the profile part where peep can put their pix and personal info. Insofar as I am NOT the most puter literate person, can u or someone tell me how you exactly go about putting on your pic as I have never done that before so I have "no clue". Thanx for the help. And Happy Holidays all.

Also Top Mod, is there a way to find where certain people u know are on and where they are at the time? thanx the only way I find someone is just when I see their name in the "recently updated" section but that's just luck.

Hi Patty! It was pretty easy to upload a photo, I think. Do you already have a pic on your computer that you want to use? If so, just sign up on Topix (you can go here: http://www.topix.net/member/register ). After you've signed up, go to your profile page, and click the button that says "Upload My Profile Image". Then, just click the "Browse" button and choose the photo you want to use in your profile. That's about it!

I can't wait to see your new profile!

Hi jsu, and thanx for the reply. I don't yet have a photo on puter, never got around to learning how so this will be a big help. When I decide on what kind of pic or whatever I want to use, I'll join the crowd on t his feature. I like it. Once again, thank you.

Hi Patty, nice to see you back. I took the plunge and signed up also.

If you or someone have a digital camera, you can upload a pic from that. That is what I did.
