I read an article in the Greeneville Sun, Nov, 12th edition, about a fund raising project for soldiers in Camp Shelby, Mississppi who cannot afford to come home for Christmas. They are in training for deployment in Feb, 2010. They will deploy for Iraq in Feb. 2010. We need to help with the fund raising to get these soldiers home for Christmas so that they can be with their families before they deploy in Feb.. Donations can be made at the National Guard Armory on Hal Henard Rd. Greeneville, Tn. What a wonderful way to show the Christmas spirit. I personally plan to donate the money that I would normally spend on buying Christmas gifts to this fund raising. It will cost $17,000.00 to bring the soldiers home and return to their base. That's a lot of money, but well worth it. I am very passionate about this because I have a son in Iraq. He is a medic. I told him about the article and he asks that everybody in Greeneville and Greene County and everywhere to please do what they can for this cause. He himself will contribute to the fund raising. So, let's all do something very special for some very special people this Holiday season. Can you think of anyone more deserving than those who are voluntarily serving their country?
