Spam has meatier role in our lives

The average price of a can of Spam is up almost 7% to $2.62, or 22¢ per ounce, according to the AP. That makes it costlier than both the average retail price of pork, 18¢ per ounce, and ground beef, 14¢, according to figures from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Not exactly a bargain. Americans are still pretty stupid.

But it taste very good.

Not all Americans eat Spam. I have never had Spam in my entire life and I don't intend to start now.

if you like spam may i suggest you try the following meat-in-a-can goodies:
ham and bacon loaf- available at most dollar stores
chunk ham- use like canned tuna
armour treat
sams club version of same
canned corned beef- still good in sandwiches or hash after all these years.

Not all Americans Deb...just the ones that pay high prices for it..ps..you for got the salt content...that's why the big price jump..it's winter time..

Tryin' to find some food (to eat).
Went on down to the corner store,
But all they had was canned meat!

Now I may not be the smartest,
But I know one thing for sure,
If I eat some o' that there SPAM,
My insides will rupture.

So I'm standing in the corner store,
Looking longingly at the shelves,
Thought I might try some o' that there SPAM,
To satisfy my self.

Well I bought all o' that there SPAM,
I took it all home to eat.
I fried it all up in a nice clean pan,
And almost died from the heat.

It was an hour before I could touch it,
And by that time I was almost dead,
I took one whiff of the smell of the stuff,
And almost fell right on my head.

Oh I'm so hungry.

Why is unwanted email called spam? Hmmm...

You have to admire their ability to take 'throwaway' bits of meat leftovers and then sell them for more per unit weight than the main cuts.
