In the next 5-10 years when Amerian lifestyle and security go down the tubes thanks to really inane press commentary influencing US policy , may we all remember that Silverstein and Harpers were among those too stupid to realze that in order to win a war like this at least cost in US lives, a true superpower plays the Great Game. Playing the black hats against the blacker hats of America's enemies saves US military lives and treasure -HELLO!!!!

I personally hate the Ethiopian government and anybody who is with it because what they are doing is not good. For example, tras-passing Somalia's land. I am Somalian and there is nothing that I love more than East Africa wether it is Somalia, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, etc. I love my people, but the thing that we have to understand is that we have to help each other instead of listening to this bulsh1t America controlled by a stupid man and followers. He is out smarting us ya'll because he using other East Africans against other East Africans...Think about it :)

One thing everyone should look at is that the world looked the other direaction when we (ethiopians) marched striaght into Somalia. Doesn't that make you say, the world doesn't care cuz Somalia is a treat not only to ethiopians but to the whole world.

How is Somalia a threat to the whole world?
If you say the "Whole world" you are including the Islamic countries whether they are Arab or other Muslims. Also, not only Somalia that the world looked away, but also Rewanda, etc. We Somalis will bring this Warlords down with Yusuf and we will be powerfull. Just look and see how it will be five years from now, you Habeshas :)

To all the participants of the debate, hear this. The matter is not between of Somalia and Ethiopia, between, a freghtened dictator and crazy Molallahs. I don't see many Ethiopans supporting Meles except his clan ( the Tigrean)and I don't see all the Somalian clan supporting the molallahs. However, the is one thing that is certain, Meles will lose the power within next 3 years because of the Olf, ONlf and all the other opposition groups. Meles will not dare to go all the way to Mogadushu because that will a suicid for him, the UIC Can not even go to Bosasso forget Addis Abeba. So, there will be some skirmishes along the border and so on. Please Refraine from creating the two brother people of Somalia and Ethiopia

People, it doesn't mater were you come from what you have to think about is that for the people who live in Ethiopia, Somalia and Eritrea. We all are not live in our country so that every body has to solve the problems instead of lighting fire on innocent people. We don’t need any fights we need peace. Thanks!

Yashika, Good try. To gain sympathy & support from your former European, American & Isreali allies, you were probably hoping to make the Somali-Ethiopian 50 years old border-war as if it was an Islamic vs christian war.
Too bad, simply because Herman Cohen, the former US Secretary of State for African Affairs has already exposed Ethiopia, feeding the World false information regarding Al-Kaida in Somalia, to gain sympathy & support from Europeans, Americans & Isrealis.
As for Eritrea, the present regime in Ethiopia was implimented by Eritreans, therefore, Eritreans don't see the need to use Al-Kaida or Somalia to topple the Ethiopian regime installed by Eritrea.
Did you choose to ignor that Mohammar Kadafi of Libya was supporting Ethiopian dictator Menghistu Hailemariam for 17 years to wage war against Eritreans?
The Eritreans forced the world to submit, surrender & recognize the Eritrean's will & determination for independent Eritrea & singlehandedly changed the African geopolitical map for good. Therefore, Eritreans are NOT interested in global sympathy or support from Isreal, Arabs, Europeans, Africans or the old USA.
Let me ask you, why would Eritreans need to surrender, submit & scumb to anyone after forcing the world to recognize Eritrean independence?
Yashika, the old "christian Island" trick is expired & therefore, Ethiopia needs to fight it's own wars, Somalia or no Somalia, for the rest of the world is busy untangling it's own braided selv-serving conflicts. Good luck to Ethiopia.

I think what is happening in Somalia is a clear indication that evil is running that area. The Islamic Court got the support of the people mainly because it managed to bring a relative law and order. They cleaned Souther Somalia from evil warlords who had been rampaging that country fro more than 15 years. They were supported by the Somalis not because the people want their Sharia law or admire them. They were supported because the people hated so miuch the warlords.

Now the court instead of capitalizing the support of the people to bring Somalis together they made some serious miscalculations. They threatend Puntland and Somaliland. They recapture Kissimayo by killing many civilains. They impose strict Islam on Somalis. Above all they claimed Ogaden to be part of SOmalis and decalfred Jihad of Ethiopia. This gave Meles Zenawi what he wanted. An excuse to enter Somalia. "Here you go ..Haven't you heard Aweys ..? " declared the rulers in Addis Ababa.

Meles wanted tension in Somalia because of two reasons:

1. He wants to obscure the situation in Ethiopia and all his domestic problems. Last year he lost in the election and rejected by the Ethiopian people. He is in power by a coup d' etats.

2. He wants to keep the Americans by his side.

The Islamic Court should have known all these and should have moved carefully. They should have tohght first of Somalia rathern than imposing their fanatism.

The COurt invited onto itself all these messe. Now they have brought back the warlords they get rid off back in June.

Anyway, It is my prayer that the world will put more pressure on Meles and I hope the Court will learn a good lesson and come to dialog. They should stop the talk of a long war and instead save Mogadishu and Kissimayo.

Dear Somali friends, I am an Ethiopia. Let me tell you this. Meles is not like the americans. He does not hesitate to clean up Mogadishu. Please remember what he did back in November. There were peaceful resistance against his regime. He went door by door and put in detention more than 200000 youngs in 5 or 6 detention camps. If there is any resistance he will flatten Mogadisgi. I call you put maximum pressure on the COurt to save Mogadishu.

The best tool to defeat Meles is dialog and peace. he is does not like that.

Power or no power, it is the Ethiopian brave men and women fighting on the ground. The world should be proud of them. The UIC have a sinister motivation to push the region to a millitant religious war. In my view the end justifies the means. UIC must go, we need a configuration favorable to every one. It can only be done with UIC gone.

I am more interested in the next step. What one has to do to set up a meeting of bordering countries (Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djjibuti, Kenya, and Somalia), and agree on a framework for cooperation. Even though all of of them fought before, I believe they will agree on some common principles, that will curb the occourance of war.

i am against the zenawi's war ins somalia, i think that meles has made a biggest mistake in his life when he invaded in somalia. this war is not over yet it is the beggining of the end of zenawis regime.usa is also making the same mistake believing that the puppets of addissaba and his soldiers would succeed in somalia. i think the history repeats itself and the west never learns from history. long live to somalia, long live to my people down to zenawi and stupid bush
