I think he should. I bet he could get a plea bargain. I will pray that he goes to the TBI and tells all that he knows.

the truth of the matter is, topix.net is about as transparent, responsible for the content it allows to be published, without any moderators, or people who reveiw the posts and delete those posts that Topix.net exclusively states is against policy, yet people are very wrongly named, exploited and Topix.net doesn't abide by their own rules. And we now know the subpoenas were not fake. What's up with that?
I'm wondering why Topix said that they were?
And they haven't offered a correction to their "users" so far. Come on Topix, what's the deal?
Something isn't right.

If the subpoenas were not illegal, then there must have been some other unknown or undisclosed factors, right?

Sounds like it to me. But what?
I followed the trail backwards. Topix claimed they were fake because of the Channel 4 story which was wrong. Of course they haven't offered a correction or retraction. Either Topix or Channel 4. Makes me wonder about Channel 4's reporting and with three reporters on it. Some fact checking. And seems like Topix was trying to get props in the stituation.
But it just doesn't make sense to me. Is this thing just getting deeper or what?

There is always the possible element of sensationalism. Sparta is getting a lot of free press (the wrong kind of course) but a lot of curious folks may find their way to Sparta just to see what this little town is all about.
I believe also that there may be more than just 1 or 2 people involved and it will take more time tieing up all the loose ends. Sparta seems to be a very exclusionary town that would prefer outsiders to stay out. I believe some of the local officers would not be happy to have this solved by outsiders. Just a thought.

If Dale had gone about trying to get the names of posters using the route that all others have to use then he would still have his job. So what else has Dale done that's underhanded? How many good buds does he still have wearing badges. Cops like him are enough to make people cautious of the police even though I'm sure there are some really fine police on the force. Trust takes time but destruction of trust only take one incident and then we start wondering.

I realize Channel 4 and Topix might want to sensationalize this for their own benefit. But in their reports this was presented as one of the facts of the case when in fact it wasn't. Doubt Topix cares but I'm sure Channel 4 does. This kind of mistake affects credibility.
It makes me wonder what really happened in the first place.
Topix showed us their "evidence" that Dale "tried to get past the whole subpoena process" (btw they said "pass" instead of "past"). If the subpoenas were legit, what was the deal?
Dale didn't get fired because he tried to pass off a fake subpoena. He got fired for disobeying a direct order. How did Topix or Channel 4 know what his direct order was? Or that he had disobeyed it?
I'm sure you're right that local officers wouldn't want an outsider to solve it. But hasn't the TBI already taken over the case? I also heard the FBI was involved albeit quietly.
And who in Sparta would want this kind of press anyway?
Also from my perspective, it really isn't a exclusionary town. I believe all are welcome. Of course, no one (no matter where they're from) appreciates people who come in and try to start telling locals how wrong or backwards they are. Sparta's backwards to an extent and there are things that go wrong. But it's like someone talking about your sister. You can say all you want about her but no one else better talk bad about her. lol

I believe you are right. When I said exclusionary it was not meant as a put down to the town, I was referring to law enforcement
wanting to solve this crime locally as opposed to having outsiders come in.

No offense taken by me.
I think local law enforcement have bigger problems than who solves the case. It might help their reputation if they were the ones to solve it. But I don't think they'll get the chance now. It's been out of their hands for a while now except maybe a little grunt work.

Daily Horoscope for January 2

Sagittarius

The rumour mill is especially active, and interesting tales are coming at you from all sides. Don't believe everything you hear: there are people who will start gossip to further their own aims and you don't want to help them unwittingly. Similarly, don't reveal too much of yourself to those who you don't know intimately - keep your own counsel.
