Time for me to have my say.
Dexter, Sarah, Henry, Amanda et al.
You all come thundering on here regularly, saying you're going to save the world from child molesters/predators, right??
Why???
Always the predators you imagine are either online, trying to trap the poor innocent children (nearly always girls), or out lurking in the bushes, near the school, or down the mall, always male, always older, always wearing a grubby raincoat.
Funny how the police can never find them, when they're that easy to recognise, eh!!!!
Of course there are some real outdoor predators, like that.
But they're a minor issue.
Yet you act like they're what it's all about.
It isn't.
Never ever will you imagined moral guardians address the real problem.
19 of every 20 of these monsters, as you like to imagine them, are in the home.
They are mom, dad, aunty, grandma, pops, nice Mr Johns, from down the street, Mr Wilson, the chemist, or your local GP, even Sgt X, your local policeman.
Even High Court judges, it has been known.
Indeed they will even be the people you are lobbying to get things done.
So how far do you think that will get you????
I've raised this issue so many times, but NEVER NEVER EVER will any of you do any more than just give it a cursory mention in passing.
It's obvious you either refuse to believe it, you think I'm lying, or you just can't handle it.
Yet this is where the REAL is!!!!
And it won't go away.
So, if you Dexter, and the others, won't deal with the 19 out of 20, why bother with the one left????
Now come on, answer me that.
That's where the REAL is.
You're all so full of yourselves about how to deal with the problem.
Reality is you're out and out S-T-U-P-I-D.
You don't win wars fighting peripheral skirmishes.
You want to do something for real, get on to your local Police Chief about what he's going to do about fixing this problem?
And keep going back every week, until he starts getting angry,
Then go put the same thing to your local politicians, state, federal, civic.
What are they all going to do????
And keep at them.
Organise lobby groups.
Don't let them off the hook.
Then get on to your business and civic leaders.
Same deal.
But you wont do any of that.
I know you won't.
Because I've seen it all before.
You'll slink away, and hope you haven't been noticed.
Because basically you're all GUTLESS.
And I'll tell you why.
Because if you even have to begin to contemplate these real issues, you have to accept that the real predators, the real molesters, the real monsters, are you, your family, your friends and associates, your kids, your mates at work, people just like you, like us all in fact.
Nothing out of the ordinary.
And then you have to start to wonder why we're all like that?
Which of our friends, neighbours and work mates are the molesters?
And what is 'different' about them?
And the answer you will get????
NOTHING is different about them.
And then you come face to face with the truth of reality.
As Miguel de Unamuno, the Spanish philosopher put it, "the face of truth is terrible to behold, awful, unsupportable, the people need to be lied to, they need to lie to themselves".
That Dexter is my reality.
That's where I'm coming from.
So, next time, before you call me names, look in the mirror!!!!
