A chair made by Grand Rapids-based Steelcase Inc. could cause a person using it to fall out of the chair.

If you google "kimball int incompetent" or "Kimball international topix" you will find Steelcase is the name to go with!

Well, I nearly fell out of my chair when I read that Steelcase actually made a product with this kind of design flaw. Sounds like an easy fix, but it's surprising that they missed this in product testing.

Judged: 1 1 1 You have to admit he has the right last name for the jobs he has done to a once great company. Of course the guy named Jerry was the beginning of the end. Been there, was there, left there.. |

I didn't realize they'd moved so much production to Mexico. Looks like the trend is continuing: http://www.mlive.com/business/west-michigan/i... .

I googled both and found Kimball is a nobody with deep turmoil inside the company. I invested heavily in Steelcase. I wouldn't touch Kimball. |
I also had (notice I said had) 100 shares of stock in the "CASE". I also knew people who put a second mortgage on their home when they went public. They then proceeded to lose their shirts. NEVER, I repeat NEVER buy stock in anything at their IPO. You will almost surely get burned. Just look at FACEBOOK,(FB). |

AMEN to that Shoeless. We used to have it pretty darn good there. |

Judged: 1 1 1 The move comes as Steelcase faces excess capacity and the need to control costs. “We continue to have excess manufacturing capacity so our space continues to exceed the need.”said Jeanne Holquist, Steelcase spokeswoman.“There remains pressure on the company to reduce costs.” Closing plants and trimming its work force will save the Grand Rapids-based company $35 million annually after it spends $45 million to pay for the restructuring, Holquist said. The company is eliminating another 350 jobs at plants in Markham, Ontario, Canada, and Grand Prairie, Texas. The work currently being done at the three plants slated to close will be moved to Mexico. |
