"1.5 No person except a n atural born citizen, or a citi zen of the United States, at t he time of the adoption of thi s Constitution, shall be eligi ble to the office of President ; neither shall any person be  eligible to that office who sh all not have attained to the a ge of thirty five years, and b een fourteen Years a resident  within the United States. "
