Us hard working, decent, middle income types are tired of seeing our tax dollars going to stupid, worthless, lazy, dependent social basket cases. Get off you butts and pull your own weight. Instead of expecting entitlement from others.

Under the Equal Tax the government at all levels determine exactly how much money thy need to operate over the following year, Then that amount is divided equally by the number of taxpayers living within their jurisdiction.
Right now when a person gets a pay raise it jumps them into the next higher tax bracket. Under the Equal Tax whenever a person gets a pay raise their taxes remain the same.
Whenever a person wants to start up a new business they are forced to pay anywhere from 5 to 15 different taxes. Under the Equal tax anyone who wants to start us a new business is free to without having to pay any taxes before they are able to open their doors.
An item that cost $10.00 today will cost $7.50 under the Equal Tax. That is because the Equal Tax replaces all of our current taxes. That is because we are taxing taxes as we tack on taxes on top of taxes on everything we buy. We are paying so many taxes that $0.50 to $0.75 of every dollar we spend are taxes. Under the Equal tax 100% of every dollar we spend is tax free.

Eisenhower 91% top marginal rate. Nixon 77% top marginal rate. Reagan 50% top marginal rate. What democrats are you talking about? Obama? 35%? Less than 17% if you are one of the top 400 wage earners in the country?

C'mon, now. My nephew and his wife make a little over $40,000 a year. They have a daughter to support, they have a car payment, two cell phones, a land line, two flat screens, and all the movie channels with their cable and internet service. She gets her nails done regularly and has her hair highlighted regularly, as well. And we live in Ct., one of the most expensive states in the union.
If they can afford all that crap, they can afford to pay 1% in taxes, even if it means she has to stop getting her nails done or cutting back their movie channel package.
Ditto for a household making $50,000. We're talking $12 a week.
They're already paying 6.2% SS tax and 7.65% for Medicare. How much more for state tax? Local income tax? Unemployment tax? 1% more will make you feel better? How about the millionaire? Should he pay 6.2% for Social Security? Or are you cool with the fact that the guy making $1,000,000 a year is paying under 1% toward SS while you and I are paying 6.2%?

In 1913 the Democrats pass the Income Tax Code shortly after the 16th Amendment was ratified. Under the current Income Tax Code Americans are punished for their hard work and rewarded for their laziness. Do you know that a person living on welfare in this country makes MORE money than a person who is working at a minimum wage job?.

Give Me Subsidies or Give Me Death!
http://catchkevin.com/give-me-subsidies-or-gi...

Prior to 1913 the American worker was rewarded for his or her hard work by being able to keep the money they earned.

Under the current Tax code whenever a person receives a pay raise they are kicked up into the next highest tax bracket and the government takes MORE of their hard earned money which in essence eats up their pay raise.

That is why I am working to get the Equal Tax Passed. Under the Equal Pay Tax the government at all levels determines exactly how much money they need to operate over the following year and that amount is divided by the number of taxpayers living within their jurisdiction. That way everybody pays the exact same amount of taxes every year. Now since the Equal Pay tax replaces ALL of our current taxes an item that costs $10.00 under the current tax system would cost $7.50 under the Equal Pay Tax. Not only that but when a person receives a pay raise they will still pay the same amount in taxes as they did before they got their pay raise. But it doesn't stop there. When a person or group of people start up a new business they will NOT have to pay all of those current taxes before they are able to open their doors for business.

We are currently paying taxes on taxes. The Equal Pay Tax puts and end to that.

One simple tax that replaces all of our current taxes.

Employees only pay half for Medicare, which is matched by the employer. Employers are also the ones who pay Unemployment tax, not the workers.

Everyone pay state taxes if you live in a state that has state income tax, and the more you earn...the more you pay. There is no local income tax, only state and federal. Everyone pays local taxes, sales taxes, gas taxes. Property taxes are only paid by property owners...my nephew doesn't own a home yet, so he's paying less (considerably so in this state-property taxes are really high) than his slightly higher-earning fellow citizens, who are more likely to own homes.

Most of us, especially in this day and age where people live much longer than they did when the government started Social Security, are going to collect much more than we paid in...one of the many reasons it's becoming increasingly insolvent.

Social Security tax is capped at an income of $106,000...so, yes, the few among us who earn those huge salaries get to cap at $106,000...they are also capped on the recieving end, which is the biggest reason that cap is in place. Imagine how much their SS checks would be if they paid 6.2%?

So, yes 1% will make me feel better. That amount multiplied by millions of households adds up to a whole lot of money. I don't care where you live in this country, if you make $50,000, you can afford $12 a week.

What that link doesn't tell you, is the guy that's earning that $32,446 in disposable income is eligible for subsidies that would put him over the income of the welfare recipient. Depending on the number of children and if the employer provides health care, that person is eligible for health care subsides and food stamps. Meaning, they're really getting more than the person getting welfare alone.

It's funny that you, of all people, would bring that up. You're living off of a government check.

Employees pay half, half is 6.2%. As for unemployment tax, in most states, the worker pays. In Pennsylvania for instance it's .08%.
There is no local income tax? Depending where you live. Connecticut no. Pennsylvania yes.
And yes, only property owners pay property taxes directly, but if you're a renter, you can guarantee the rent reflects the cost of taxes. So the person renting is actually paying those taxes.
As for the millionaires being capped on the earnings. Most are involved in businesses that rely on demand. So if SS dries up, they lose a large portion of the population in terms of buying their goods and services. So in reality, most of those that are paying less than 1% to SS benefit by those that collect SS whether they're capped or not. How about they pay a reduced rate past the $106,000? But to be capped at 106,000 while the guy making half that pays the full 6.2% just doesn't jive.

You seem to have a problem with people getting money when they're not working. You seem to post here a lot. Sounds like you're capable of earning a living doing something on the computer. Quit loafing, quit stealing from the working man. Sounds like you are a hypocrite. Typical teabegger.

I was injured on the job in the line of duty and I am collecting my workman's compensation. I know you would deny our wounded warrior their Service-Connected Disability checks for their combat injuries they incurred defending you, your RIGHTS and YOUR FREEDOMS.

I would deny anyone their checks when they are willing to deny anyone other than themselves. You're a hypocrite. You can work. You're on here every day. If you can do that, you can do something of value to someone. Don't be a hypocrite. Get back to work or shut your mouth about others in a similar situation.

Over the past 30 years I have been working as a Veterans Rights Advocate. I have accomplished as much as I can as a Civil Rights Advocate and the time has come for me to step up to the plate and finish what I started 30 years ago.

While it is true that I was making 10 times as much as I have as an advocate when I was working a "regular" job. There are more important thing than earning money. Like making things better for our Wounded Warriors and seniors.

Every person who have been paying into their Social Security Trust Account over the past 40 years are owed $1,500,000.00 EACH. The same thing holds true for Medicare. I have a plan that will SAVE Social Security and Medicare. If I went out and found a "regular" job within 10 years there will no longer be Social Security or Medicare.

There was a time when people were rewarded for the hard work. Then those THIEVING Democrats established the Income Tax which punishes people for their hard work. When a person gets a pay raise it kicks them up into the next higher tax bracket. In other words every time a person gets a pay raise the GOVERNMENT takes MORE of their money.

I am working to establish the Equal Pay Tax. Under the Equal Pay Tax the government at all levels determine exactly how much money they need to operate over the following year. Then that amount is divided by the number of taxpayers living within their jurisdiction. Under the Equal Pay Tax when a person gets a pay raise they still pay the same tax they were paying before they got their pay raise. Because the Equal Pay Tax replaces all of our current taxes an item that cost $10.00 under the current tax system will cost $7.50 under the Equal Pay Tax. If I went out and got a "regular" job your taxes will continue to increase leaving you with less of your paycheck.

If I were to get a "regular" job our borders will stay wide open as more and more illegals would invade this country. This war we are currently in will last another 30 years. If I were to get a 'regular" job more American will find themselves living on welfare with absolutely no way off as the job market will continue to tank under ever expanding government.

There are more important things than getting money and becoming extremely rich. I've been there and the treatment of my fellow Americans by our own government is a whole lot more important than all of the money in the world.

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Taurus

Get involved in financial transactions at your peril under today's Lunar Eclipse, because certain people will use them as a stick to beat you with. For instance, if you ask someone to lend you money they'll either make you feel guilty about it or dredge up all sorts of past instances when their trust was betrayed. You would also be well advised to avoid any show of possessiveness or jealousy, even if you feel it, unless you truly don't care about the disastrous outcome.
