What about aged pensioners who get about $23000 a years and unlike these low like creeps, have to pay for their travel, eating out and many other things these pieces of shit get for free from tax paying people.

You have to wonder how pollies get their wage cases passed without inteference, yet police, nurses and teachers have to fight tooth and nail to simply keep their wages in line with CPI?

System seems a little unfair.

These people are just high paid scum bags....to get rises like this in this climate is ludicrous it mocks all those people who are struggling with constant price hikes and lack of any pay rises to even meet the basic cost of living.....
Greed is all government is about...make more money so when they retire they can do it in style.... Crooks that are robbing the tax payer blind and don't deserve one cent on their performance........
Swan and Gillard must go because they proved they talk the talk, but constantly fail to walk the walk.....
Bring in a law that links all MPs pays to performance based salaries, then watch as they get paid what they are actually worth.....
Theives liars and elitists is what we get for our! They all make me sick!
When did it become the entitlement of government MPs to demand ridiculous salaries and payouts for doing what everyone of us does everyday...and the same with company ceo's that see the cost of our basic services that skyrocket because of a handful of greedy pigs in powerful positions...it is a sick world we live in ...when a few can demand the wealth that belongs to all Australians.
And they dare to tell W.A or any of the state they will be getting less in their coffers and then go give themselves a whopping huge feckin' pay rise...I wonder where that money came from....the pockets of all hard working Aussies..what hypochritical greedy swine....We urgently NEED to find a better way than LABOR THE PARTY FOR THE WORKING MAN! feckin' joke right!

They have the "Independent Remuneration Tribunal", which the elect and you only have to look at who they are to see how independent they aren't.

About the Remuneration Tribunal
Establishment and membership of the Tribunal

"The Remuneration Tribunal is an independent statutory authority established under the Remuneration Tribunal Act 1973 (the Act).
The Tribunal consists of three part-time members appointed by the Governor-General.
The current Members are:

Mr John Conde AO – President - appointed on 19 June 2008 as Member and President for five years from 25 June 2008. Mr Conde was originally appointed as a member of the Remuneration Tribunal on 18 June 1998. Mr Conde is the Chairman of Ausgrid (formally EnergyAustralia). He is also Chairman of Bupa Australia Health Pty Ltd, Chairman of Whitehaven Coal Limited, Chairman of the Sydney Symphony, Chairman of Destination New South Wales and associated entities. He is a Director of Dexus Property Group and Chairman of the Dermatology Research Foundation at the University of Sydney and sits on the parent entity, Sydney Medical School Foundation.

Mr Conde is Chairman of the Australian Olympic Committee (NSW) Fundraising Committee.

Positions previously held include Director of BHP Billiton and Excel Coal Limited, Managing Director of Broadcast Investment Holdings Pty Limited, Director of Lumley Corporation, President of the National Heart Foundation of Australia and member of the Sydney Children's Hospital Network Board.

Mr John B Prescott AC – appointed from 25 February 2010 for five years. Mr Prescott is Chairman of QR National Limited and a Director of Newmont Mining Corporation. He is Global Counsellor of The Conference Board (USA), and a member of President's Circle, AustralAsia Centre, Asia Society. Mr Prescott was previously Chairman of ASC (formerly Australian Submarine Corporation Pty Ltd) from 2000 to 2009 and from 1991 to 1998 was Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of BHP.

Ms Jillian Segal AM – appointed from 12 April 2010 for 5 years. Ms Segal is a Director of the National Australia Bank Limited, a Director of ASX Ltd and Deputy Chancellor of the University of New South Wales. Ms Segal is also Chairman of the General Sir John Monash Foundation and a Director of the Garvan Institute for Medical Research. Formerly, she was President of the Administrative Review Council and Deputy Chair of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission. Prior to that Ms Segal sat on a number of industry and government boards and was a partner in Allen Allen & Hemsley (now Allens Arthur Robinson)."

Go through the site, it's a very interesting read and shows how much big business controls parliament. Note the number of companies and paid government boards they control, not very independent at all.

You may also realise these people are, or have been part of corporate donors to the lab/lib coalition and so gave conflicts of interest. Look a little deeper and see where their political and religious affiliations lie.

Conde has a big stake in channel 9, Segal is a jew lawyer and Prescott a bureaucrat who got his money working with big business

That is so true and these aged pensioners rarely complain - and who speaks for them? How can these government bureaucrats justify that income range in the first place - no body requires that much money - what do they spend it on - how many 'things' do they have to have in their lives?

You've gotta be joking, the legal profession along with religion is the backbone of this elitist and corrupt system, They control every aspect of our society with the laws they right to suit themselves and their agenda.

I read there is a clause in the constitution, I think it's 129 which makes it an act of treason for anyone to sell give away or dispose of the assets of the people, but they have privatised everything and given it to their mates. the last person to challenge it in the high courts ended up in jail.

It's about time for a political revolution, when governments and their strongest supporters big bussiness have a "LET THEM EAT CAKE" mentality....It is alright for them sitting on their half a million a year with perks, and their million of dollars in retirement fund...... Different sides of the fence yet their words are indistiguishable from each other....We see them all gobbling up the money from the mining boom, while the Gillard government is saying that people should have more of a share in the wealth of Australia......The translation for that means.... for all MPs and big bussiness and the populus should starve and struggle.....so the "Let them eat cake" attitude is the cry of all the greedy pigs in paliament and their rich mates.....I would urge all governments to reassess there actions to match their words....The natives are getting restless and fed up! And history knows how this ends for those who think they are entitled.....

Pretty much right, my point is they seem to get behind lots of different pet projects relating to human rights etc overseas and green initiatives but seem to not poke around the constitutional privileges our pollies and business leaders seem to get.

That's all a ploy, so they can claim those supposed charitable involvements as tax deductions and they claim them in a big way. Same with pro bono work, they claim all that against their tax, plus expenses and make a big profit. As they all gave their monies in various trusts they effectively pay no tax and ye have unfettered access to the money as keepers of the trusts.

People either to dumb, programmed or conned to realise the depth of corruption and control the legal profession has. Try finding a full copy of our constitution on the web, I'd be interested if you can, as the people don;t have access to it at all. They hide it so everyone doesn't notice they are acting unconstitutionally in just about everything they do.

All the clone do is whinge and whine about stupid irrelevant things, when the elites are enslaving them and bleeding them dry and giving away their money to their elitist ilk.
