The court is acting in line with what the law says. Don't like it, move.

If Connie was:
1. properly supervising the children in her care
2. called 911 immediately

this would be an entirely different ball game.

Hopefully justice will be served. Both the 10 year old and the babysitter need to be charged and punished for allowing this to happen.

This child some where some how knew that shaking a baby was harmful. This is learned behavior either through her own lifes experience or watching this being done to another. I may be naive but as a woman we are built with an instinct to nurture love and protect from an early age on. Go after this girls parents, caretakers whom ever, she was taught this!!

I just can't believe that a 10year old would know that if she shook the baby that he would die. I think that the babysitter should be held totally responsible for what happen to that little baby boy. Where was she when all this happened? And why was she not checking on the baby? And why, if the baby was sleeping in a crib, why were the other kids in the same room as a sleeping baby? To me, it doesn't sound like the babysitter was doin the job she was paid to do. I guess she took the name babysitter as just that, had babys and she sat.

The 10 year child should be charged any babysitter could walk away within a min and this could happen i work at the hospital lets not be stupid. For every mother out there that thinks they are mother of the year are pretty stupid there is not one mother grandmother babysitter or any adult that knows what i a child is doing every seconds of the day. If you think you do you are the biggest lier around. A 10 year old gril should not have to have supervisor all hours of the day they need to grow up at some point or time. This babysitter i fell bad for because all the court is hearing is the ryders side of the family nothing else tha has been investigated. The Ryder family are very gredding people for feeling this way. i also like how all you nosey people run your mouth and not even know the whole stiuation. I dont know that stituation but by far would a i make judgements like all you nasty people

I would agree 100% that this 10 year old child does know the differnece between what is right and wrong. But, there is no way that this child could have understood what implications and results of what her actions would have led to. At this age, when a child gets in trouble, there is time out, spanking, or removal of something that the child favors.....not murder charges...they don't even know what that means. How would she know the difference?

Charge the caretaker with all responsibility......especially since she took no action in helping.

I feel for all of the families involved, but I do not believe that a 10 year old should be given a life sentence there is not benefit here. Maybe send her away for a few years and have her be a speaker for young children or something. She obvisous needs help and giving her a life sentence is not the answer. Lock her up and forget about her is not the answer. The babysitter should be charged more then the 10 year old, after all she was the one responsible for the infant.

I believe that justice should be done. We have also to consider that a 10yr old might not know how bad shaking a baby is and is probably not capable of picking baby and shaking baby, this sounds more like "babysitter" is blaming, kid and sitter did it! Don't you think? Come, on!! I've had conversations with a lot of 10yr olds and all they want to do is play with babies! Do a lie test!

Thanks!

According to the testimony of the witnesses, that 10 year old was abusing that baby. She had hit Heath on several occasions for no reason all all other than to be mean. I've seen several posts on this story over the past several months. Mostly like your's not wanting to hold this child or the baby sitter responsible for this infants death. Most of the comments are from people that have no idea of what happened. This 10 year old is evil and knew what she was doing and afterwards tried to cover it up. The baby sitter failed not only in her job, but also as a human being. While Heath's mother was giving CPR trying to save his life, the Baby sitter still refused to call 911. The doctors and the coroner both testified that had the baby sitter called 911 immediately, little Heath would still be alive. All of you who want to criticize the court and the prosecuter for this case, I ask you to think about how you would feel knowing that the person you trusted with your child aloowed this to happen then did nothing. Imagine giving CPR to your baby and begging for her to call 911, only for her to refuse. Imagine your other children sitting in the same classroom with the girl who murdered their brother. Would you still be on your high horse arguing that this prosecution is wrong. Wise up poeple! this is the problem in our country today, "Everyone" has an excuse for not being held accountable. Wise UP!!!

Well I hope you never have this happen to any of your children or any relative. The Ryders are NOT greedy and have lost a precious little boy. Both the little girl and the babysitter pleaded the fifth - hmmmm I do think they had their chance. By the reading of your comment you would be good to look in the mirror before you point fingers at those writing comments!

Daily Horoscope for May 22

Aries

Keep a firm grip on your money today to avoid anyone else getting their mitts on it. If you're out in public you should keep your wallet or bag clamped to your side, just in case it goes walkabout. You should also make sure you check any bills and invoices that you're given, in case they contain a mistake. It's a day when errors and deceptions are highly likely.
