Another rig explodes off La. coast; oil spreading

California has a 'hold' on offshore oil production because of these pervasive, pesky, technical problems like rigs exploding and catching fire.

Actually these Big Off Shore Oil Companies really need to start enforcing more SAFETY REGULATIONS! They enforce it on land why should off shore be any different? You guys do realize this was an inactive oil rig due to the moratorium right? Not all the rigs have moved to Venezuela or Brazil yet. First people wanted such tight regulations fir on land or close to shore drilling, so they were forced into deep waters. Now people don't want that either so you can either a. Get all oil from overseas or b. Outlaw cars. What is it that people truly want? It sounds like everyone is so up in arms still about Katrina but people fail to realize how the moratorium is affecting these same people. Hate really does lead to illogically thinking. How would you like to get oil and gas for your cars, crayons for your kids, water bottles, and all the other products made from oil? What do you propose people do who have lost jobs to the moratorium? We are talking 20,000 jobs at the least.

Doesn't anyone else find it a coincidence that a second rig blows up so shortly after a judge sinks the last moratorium?
