Gov't to relocate 188,000 families

Full story: Manila Times

Those city slumdog hundreders (pesos) will likely move back to the city in a short time, all they know is live in the city and will have trouble adjusting life in rural areas. Put them to work for food and shelter and build a city where they relocate.

We've been hearing this for a longgggggggg time but no action.

Well, I have an idea, those people who are relocated should have an Identification card and should not go back to that area.

Another problem why most of the owner of the land allows these people to live in this area because they want to rent the land for them for cheap.

The government should bad the land owners to rent this land for this people

The government should impose law for these land owners or fine them.

Funny how someone in Canada has all the answers.
After the fall of Marcos, seems like landowners have no rights if squatters get established. Look out the window of nice eatery, see a slum, ask who owns the land, and answer will be nobody. Army tries to clean it up and turns into a nighmare.

The Meralco company should not or MUST NOT allow customer to connect electricity in the swamp area or squatter area. This is a corrupt way to help poor people. They should do it in a legal way NOT always wacky business. The Meralco Company also took advantage to these poor settlers and collect electricity in an illegal way. THis has to be stop! We need to impose and regulate Laws against the Land owners who let the the squatter people built their house . NO TO building slamp area by the water area. it should be 1 kilometer away from the water. We need to plant heavy trees half kilometer awayfrom the water. We need new sea wall not corrupt sea wall.

Actually, after the typhoon Ondong, the victims were relocated. The same thing with that area in Quezon City where landslide buried houses. The last tragedy of a family all buried except one adult and the husband, were relocated but returned. Now the brother who is buried alive but was recovered sworn not to return to that place anymore.

What is needed after relocation is strict implementation of the law of not allowing anybody to put up a shanty on those places.

Crystal: Land owner don't let these people build their house in their land, These people just build their house anywhere the want it. I know because there is people I'm trying to get rid off and the don't want to move without paying them to move. In the philippines there is a law that if you're going to kick somebody in your land you have to pay these people before you can kick them.

These people don't even pay rent and they want to get paid in order for them to move-out. Its hard to get rid of squarters thats why the don't care where they're going to built their house because the knows they're going to make plenty of money.

The only way to solve that problem is when the relocated these people the make sure to put-up block fence so that nobody can build house's alone the river bank or alone da rilles....

Most of the squatters in Luzon are Visayans who migrated to Luzon and do not have a land that is why they became squatters. Why not just ship them back to Visayas problem solved.

You know what the Mayor of SF did to the homeless who are not residents here were offered bus fares to go back to their home town. Those who agreed were brought to the bus station and paid for their fares. But some came back because of the benefits/free meals/welfares that are available in SF.

Whatever happened to police patrols preventing squatters. Assign areas to the cops, quite simple really but here nothing is simple to do. Anywhere else police patrol and they see something suspicious they investigate. If it's a squatter trying to build a shack tell him to move on or he will be arrested for trespassing.

Why is it the simplest of things other countries do is so fu@ked up here.

Dont be afraid to google Davaos dirty beaches. I wish youd stop speaking for places you dont know anything about just because you are filipino.

You dont qualify as any kind of fair and impartial judge on matters in the filipins.

Any filipino here thats telling you these things is just the same as you are. A liar.

AMC and gangmates might immigrate to Davao, lol.

I believe they learn a hard lesson and hopefully, people will observe cleanliness and observe right disposal of trash.

It's politics. Those in power will not touch them squatters so they can get their votes during election.

Daily Horoscope for May 25

Aquarius

You're very feisty and energetic and there's a lot you want to achieve. You'll get rather impatient if anyone stands in your way. A close emotional relationship will either be sexy and exciting beyond belief, or bad-tempered and tetchy. If you're in a grumpy mood, try to work out why - and what would improve matters. One thing that's bound to help is physical exercise, because it will burn off any excess nervous energy.
