Well if the current data doesn't show global warming they'll just change the data until it does.

Tho toxic topix AGW deniers always complain about data, they have no science background, expertise or ability to 'improve' data to show the ice age that toxic topix AGW deniers said started some years ago.

"scientific skepticims"
Scientific skeptics attempt to evaluate claims based on verifiability and falsifiability and discourage accepting claims on faith or anecdotal evidence.

"philosphical skepticsm"
is a philosophic position holding that the possibility of knowledge is limited either because of the limitations of the mind or because of the inaccessibility of its object.

"denialist definition of skepticism"
One who instinctively or habitually doubts, questions, or disagrees with assertions or generally accepted conclusions. i.e. denial of anything anyone takes as 'fact'.

Denialists are related to 'philosphical skepticism' which is based on denial of our ability to know anything anyway. It rejects the use of science as a pathway to knowledge and so the denialists avoid science in their discussion.

Of course, all they really prove is that they have a knee jerk aversion to any knowledge.

Where did you get that?

Philosophy is the basis for all inquiry. It is the basis of math and it's spinoff, science.

Are you trying to cover up the Criminal investigation at Chevron refinery?

Jack Broadbent, executive director of the Bay Area Air Quality Management District, says Chevron was "routing gas through that pipe to the flare that they were not monitoring."

What does Hawking know?

All scientists think they are at the pinnacle of their field and most likely they are, until the next level is reached.

Philosophy never assumes it knows it all, but is the endeavor to discover the hows and whys of what we know and defines the process by which we continue to discover.

They may be at the pinnacle (peak) for the present without worrying about the fact that the future will know more. All it takes is to be at the peak TODAY.

In your view with is not shared by MOST philosophers. And they are presumably the ones with the last word on philosophy, not you OR Mr. Hawkins who has never claimed to be a philosopher that I know of.

Actually.. At Google's Zeitgeist Conference in 2011, Hawking said that "philosophy is dead."

He believes philosophers "have not kept up with modern developments in science" and that scientists "have become the bearers of the torch of discovery in our quest for knowledge." He said that philosophical problems can be answered by science, particularly new scientific theories which "lead us to a new and very different picture of the universe and our place in it".[57]
(Wikipedia)

P.S. It's easy to agree with Hawking.
