I was stuck in the long wait for two hours. I believe that Cal Trans should have posted warnings in Bishop to let people know about the long wait. We had to wait for them to bring in heavy equipment to move the sand and dirt.

I find it hard to believe that someone would complain about being stuck for 2 hours when people lost everything they owned.....what a shallow self centered person you must be

I was wondering about the Mt. Whitney Fish Hatchery. Was there any damage? Any pictures? That was a favorite stopping spot for a picnic on our trips to the High Sierras and home again.

The main building is fine but the fish corals and the pond have mud in them. (Fish are dead). Also the County told them that they are not responsible for cleaning up private property just thier land. They seem to be hanging the residents out to dry.

Parents Beware, Independence, California, Elementary School has a long history of looking the other way when violent bullyng occurs in the classroom and elsewhere on schoolgrounds, I have heard from others , and it was my own experience when I lived there and my child attended school there. My child came home with torn clothing, purple finger imprint bruises on her throat, terrified, and heartbroken; her schoolyears ruined forever. School administration at Independence Elementary School were unresponsive. I had to engage an attorney, and remove my child from public school, permanently.( a wise choice as it turned out) Homeschooled by her dedicated Mother, my child is, today, a physician. Zero tolerance for school bullies None. If your child is being bullied, Do Not hesitae to remove them, at once, from the school. Do Not let the school threaten you. They will. Talk to a lawyer. Your child is at stake. Permanent expulsion for school bullies. ZERO TOLERANCE and No Excuses NONE No bullies at school none no excuses
