Hopefully she didn't have a will and the money will go to the state.

She's 41 and a grandmother already. They sure get a head start down there.

If she has no will, it won't go to the state if she has surviving heirs...they're just going to have to fight for it and pay alot of money to attorney's to get it.

We plan on using the temporary insanity defense, and petitioning the court to award the lottery winning to Derrick. The thought of having to support himself drove Derrick over the edge.

The fate of some who win big lottery money can be a sorry one. Although I had not read of one being murdered, I have read of some who run through the money in no time and, unbelievably, get into financial problems.

Very true and not surprising...think about it...many people can't handle money, even a little bit. Give them a whole lot, it just created bigger problems that they still can't handle.

That said, I sure would like to give handling big money a try! LOL.

Did the article say she had grandchildren? I think it just said she was going to start trust funds for them. Can't you do that in anticipation of having grandkids? Maybe not.

At 20 each of you should have been in college.

Not only should you get a hobby, but also a friendly English teacher.
Not only should it be whom as it follows a preposition (to) but it would take that form following a transitive verb (to pay).
Try to think of subjects (who) and objects(whom)and all will be simplified.
Why the pedantry, anyway?
Can't you think of anything interesting to say?

If you had a baby at 20. You are now 45 meaning your daughter had the kid at 15 to make you a Grandmother.
Does this explain it.

The problems people with sudden wealth have are quite a lot. We all want to win, but I can tell you, the amount of charlatans and hangers on that come out of the woodwork including family is amazing. Also "I have a friend" when she recieved a large sum of money due to hubby's death, a former friend under the auspices of helping decided to leave his wife of 20 years to spend more time to "help". The second male acquantance became a stalker after things didn't work out as he planned.
I get it

Nothing wrong with that, as long as you win the lottery I guess, otherwise your life's goal might be a doublewide and one of them there 35" tvs
