the guys a freaking traitor. endangering the lives of many soldiers. and he talks like he's a victim????

if he did this to any other country, they would shoot him point blank. no questions asked.

atypical of the behavior displayed by cocaine using, marijuana smoking, brain dead, stupid hippies.

arrogant, and above the law.

the right thing to do?..put him in a jail cell, and throw away the key. let him ponder on all the soldiers that he got killed for his holier-than-thou attitude.

Imbecilic comment - as an asian you ought to know the terror of dictatorships and the bravery of those who speak up.

Take your pick:

Burma - with their ethnic cleansing of minority groups, such as the Karen people

China - oppresive communist regime

North Korea - strictly speaking not communist but more emporer worship

Vietnam - communist and don't kid yourself it's not altogether free, especially if you are a christian living outside the city areas

Indonesia - muslim

That s actually a very i ntereresting question, because on the surface your country, like mine is a democracy (though strictly speaking America was founded as a republic where the rights of the few cannot be taken away by the majority , and ideally would be functioning as such).

I would say however, looking at how democratic countries are working in this world that they are tending to be increasingly dictatorial. How for instance can you have a war in Iraq intiated by GWB junior - a republican continue inabated under Obama - a democrat, despite Obama offering assurances to your people that he would pull out of Iraq ?

When Australia changed government during the Vietnam war, Australia had a government determined to end it's involvement in the war - that is democracy - heeding the will of the people. There is precious little of that in today's politics.(i'm not a fan of Gough Whitlam , by the way, the then Australian Prime Minister)

the reason why we are in the middle east is because some countries there declared war on the usa. committed 9/11. MURDERED 3000+.

we all know that saddam supported the muslim terrorist groups supporting this declared war on us.

and you have the nerve to say we are dictators?

what are you? muslim? I mean, how else could one say we were wrong to retaliate? how would you react if some country INVADED australia and murdered your people? twiddle your thumbs?

its guys like you who encourage these terrorists to murder others with your demonizing of the victims.

unbelievable.

assange assisted the enemy in killing our people by publishing documents that exposed them.

a traitor. and you call him courageous?

you need to get off the drugs because you are confused.

There are many in your country who now believe that 9/11 was a false flag attack by your government on its people - a pre-text for war with Iraq. Being aquainted with this view and the evidence in support of it, I am inlcined to agree. I don't know about you , but I don't agree with everything my leaders say just because they say it.

You should also aquaint yourself with one of your emminent historians - Carol Quigley. Also, a modern day American historian - Webster Tarpley to round out your education

like I said.. get off the drugs.

if the west wanted to fuck around with the world, they could have easily done so when they first invented the atom bomb. back in 1945, the usa had the bomb for 4 years before anybody else got it.

in those 4 years, we could have conquered the world.

your claims of an evil usa are the rants coming from people who hate america for whatever reason.

I would guess muslims in general enter this group.

so, which are you? one of the cocaine using, marijuana smoking, brain dead, stupid hippies? or a muslim?

if you think so badly of the west, why don't you go live in the middle east with the terrorists? since you believe everything they say, you should do really well with them. right?

I have given you some resources to follow up, yet you come back with an immature reply like that? You're an indocrinated fool who is fodder for anything that your government dreams up. The citizens of America are losing their famed freedoms (you do know that since 911 you've lost many of them, don't you?).

For a moment I thought I was dialoguing with an individual capable of rational , independant thought. But I am now thinking the other posters summed you up accurately

It is so sad to see how filled with hatred you are, speaking of the atomic bomb with such pride gives me the shivers. Have you been to see what destruction has been left in the wake of the many wars perpetrated by your country? Children are still being born deformed in Vietnam from the spraying of Agent Orange for example. As is suggest, it would be worth your while to read more, open your eyes to what is really going on.

Better still, ask any of your leaders why they bother to try and establish democracy in any Islamic nation. Historically, democracies have only come about because the people have sought it. It has never been implemented as an imposition from above.

The idiocy of that approach should be enough for people to ask wht western nations are involved in the affairs of others to the extent that they are

Lmao and Smh at Asian guy. His logics flawed, JA isn't an an American therefore can't be legitimately charged with treason or as a traitor by a foreign country. Only in Australia could his acts be seen as treason. He obviously lives the American dream. Our Aussie soldiers are endagering their lives also. Why not thank JA for highlighting the lack of security in the US military machine that allowed him to gain access to these reports. Just saying

As it happens it's your logic that is flawed. The charges assange could potentially face are not for treason but conspiracy. If it is shown at mannings trial that assange played any active role in mannings treason,of which there is no question,he could most certainly be tried and convicted of conspiracy in that treason, regardless of nationality, and face the very same penalty that manning will surely recieve...life in prison. They should both be thankful for that since these are capital crimes punishable by death but the Justice dept. has said they will not seek the death penalty. The fact,as you say, that he "gained access" to those reports tends to support rather than dispute the notion that he colluded with manning in releasing classified documents. And yes,he did endanger the lives of Aussie soldiers and untold numbers of others from all nationalities military and civillian alike by releasing classified documents unread and without any notion or concern about the content or consequences. That is why not to thank that grinning postule. Just saying.

Lmfao Asian guy called him a traitor. The Australian govt aren't charging JA are they? Aussies soldiers are endangered because they're in a war helping an ally. Life of a soldier can be dangerous its expected. What has this war achieved? Improved life of the indigenous populace? Brought a timely end to terrorism? Considering that some of the very people they've been assisting saw fit to shoot friendlies. Well perhaps not. Manning knew what, as the world does what wiki leaks does. Raises the Q of accountability. What of governments accountability. Are we blindly expected to swallow all that we are told? Without Q. Did wiki leaks do the wrong thing? Perhaps. Does the US govt or any govt always do the right thing?? Your justice dept?? Lol if you guys looked after your own back yard. I might be interested in what your govt had to say. Btw joe.. Take it personally?? Me?? Not a chance cousin. My back yard is exactly what I look after,5 of'em actually.I bought the 2 houses on either side of my place so I'm guaranteed to get along with the neighbors...because there aint any! You shouldn't confuse my revulsion at a creature like assange with support for the war in Iraq, I never heard a valid argument for it. Rather than the blood and treasure that war costs, I thought we should have just buried the whole region under a sea of big macs and shaved pussy. Nothing cools the fire for jihad like a full belly and a sore dick.

You're keen to look on the bright side of things and to ignore anything unpleasant or worrying. That's fine, provided that you're ready to face up to life's difficulties again tomorrow. But it's not such good news if you persist in looking the other way whenever a problem presents itself, especially if it's connected with your work or health. It may be time to face a few facts, Capricorn.
