Well, sorry pro-Rams. The Boulder Police are using yet ANOTHER DNA databank, that of the unclaimed dead, and guess what? No match to the unsourced DNA there either...

The fallacy of your argument is called "Argument to Ignorance".

For example, "We have no evidence of alien visitors; therefore, aliens do not exist.(They may well exist, but are not visiting Earth)."

Because a match to the DNA has not been found does not mean it does not exist. It means it is not in a database.

Thanks Toots, great info. unfortunately they probably assumed he was into drug dealing just because he was Latin and then finally" it took one unbiased Cop too open up the case, as well as Jonbenets it is great to see Some people care no matter where a person comes from.

No need to be sorry, Candy. DNA will solve this case one day and we're patient, we can wait. Back in 1996 the killer was unaware he'd left his DNA on her panties and had no way of knowing then that 12 years later his DNA would also be found on her longjohns.

One day in the not too distant future DNA will provide us with a composite sketch of the killer. It is already possible to determine hair colour with good reliability from DNA. It is predicted that future advances will reveal age, eye colour, possibly even the shape of a face.

The net is closing in on the killer. It's just a matter of time.

I don't expect there will be a match any time soon unless they start testing everyone who came into contact with the evidence before and after the testing; and even then, I'm not so sure

The shape of someone's face????

I heard that future advances will also come back with phone numbers and all current nicknames!

I heard it won't be long before it also produces email and IP addresses, gneetic predispositions, and maybe even GPS movement?

I didn't mention phone numbers or nicknames, I didn't reeat anything. More than one person in the world has a sense of humor even though you don't. If you did you wouldn't post those 50 year old jokes all the time my grandmother used to tell me about.

The killer might not have known he left his DNA in JBR's panties but he surely knew when JBR dug her fingernails into him and got a piece of him like Lou said, no?

Too bad the boulder police didn't have this info then. The might have done a visual inspection of every suspect's (including ALL members and associates of the ramsey clan) body and looked for the scratches! Then at least we would have a way to narrow in on the potential perp.

Had she actually scratched her killer enough to leave a scratch, there would have been a full profile of DNA to work with. The DNA under the nails was not only degraded but admittedly, the clippers used to take the samples were contaminated

I've been trying to learn more about this case. It seems like you guys spend more time trading insults than actually discussing the case.

Just wondering how this is accomplishing anything other than inflating your ego?

Hang in there frustrated! This is an unmoderated board. This is the best board on the case. There are LOTS of good threads on this board. You just have to scroll through the flamers. Ever since this case began, there have been flamers. Just scroll past the flames, and you'll find what you're looking for. Just go through the pages of this forum, you'll see every topic under the sun regarding this case.

Back to the newest DNA bank to not find "the real killer." Those pro-Rams are Waiting for Godot as far as I'm concerned.

Me too. Another frustrating element is the onslaught of junk listings constantly added and 'updated' by some wierdo usig the name "lei Suss...". I suspect this poster is somehow related to the recent goofball who claimed to be "there" during JBR's death.

Yeah, you have to scroll by all that Lei Suss stuff, because you know it's related to Karr.

The DNA under her fingernails probably got there by her scratching at her killer, thereby getting his skin cells under her nails, but she may not have broken the skin, therefore he would not necessarily know his DNA was there and IMO he didn't know.

The fingernail DNA was degraded but not because it was old, IMO. Meyers caused it when he cut her nails, thereby breaking the DNA molecules and then further added to it to by using contaminated clippers. It was male DNA which is really coincidental, isn't it, as the other DNA came from a male too and some of the markers matched.

Her nails should have been scraped for DNA before they were cut and had this been done, I have a very strong suspicion the fingernail DNA would have been an exact match to the DNA on her clothing.

Once the clippers touched her nails and was contaminated, the DNA is not worth much and is "contaminated".

There was a 50/50 chance that it would be male; not so far reaching. Had she scratched her killer, there would have been a complete profile.

The degraded state did not come from the clippers. Do you have a source that it is even possible for clippers to "degrade" the DNA?

Your suspicions are as good as mine and everyone else's, no more, no less

What "should" have been done includes much more than was done in most aspects of this case

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Sagittarius

Relationships have been going through through testing times since the Solar Eclipse at last month's New Moon in Gemini on May 20. Events may force you to reevaluate the state of a partnership. You may even decide that you need to make some major adjustments if things are to carry on as you would like. During the coming fortnight leading up to the rare second New Moon in Gemini, this may feel like a crisis, but that doesn't mean you should abandon all hope or throw out the baby with the bathwater.
