Wondered if this is in reverse? Mirror image?
C.T.B.S.?? |
|
Yes, S.B.T.C. could mean either one of those. The last one could be Carl, the Bad Smith (C.T.B.S.)and sounds like something a teenager would say.

www.bpnews.net also SBTC mentioned in www.Johnstonsarchive.net in www.mitpressjournals.org they mention sbtc as skill biased technological change..... and www.288.pair.com (haven't a clue - real time player?) says: The OFDM was used in order to suppress ISI & SBTC code was used to obtain spatial diversity in order.........blah blah.......the brains can figure this out. I am going for computer terms and the church. |

Most letters I read have a complimentary close such as:
Love, Name or Yours truly, Name Sincerely, Name so; I would say the perp signed: Victory, Name |

This one is interesting... Implications of Skill-Biased Technological Change: International Evidence* Eli Berman Boston University and National Bureau of Economic Research John Bound University Ofmichigan and National Bureau of Economic Research Stephen Machin University College London and Centre for Economic Performance, London, School of Economics Demand for less-skilled workers plummeted in developed countries in the 1980s. In open economies, pervasive skill-biased technological change (SBTC) can explain this decline. SBTC tends to increase the domestic supply of unskill-intensive goods by releasing less-skilled labor. The more countries experiencing a SBTC, the greater its potential to decrease the relative wages of less-skilled labor by increasing the world supply of unskill-intensive goods. We find strong evidence for pervasive SBTC in developed countries. Most industries increased the proportion of skilled workers despite generally rising or stable relative wages. Moreover, the same manufacturing industries simultaneously increased demand for skills in different countries. Many developing countries also show increased skill premiums, a pattern consistent with SBTC. |

When a person is stripped of his livelihood, his retirement and pension, he will seek revenge. Those who experienced such loses at Access Graphics in '94,'95, and '96 would be prime suspects in the murder of his daughter.
During this time some employees were adversely affected in the US (CO). SBTC = Skill-Biased Technological Change |

Thanks Victory, That's what I wanted to say but didn't. |

There were so many made 'redundant'. But JR was promoted and made businessman of the year. That, surely, would have pissed people off!
|
Especially those on the lower echelon, the paper pushers, and of course Merritt and the other guy, I forget his name. I would look at others in the company--even secretaries. |

Here is something interesting....
Pat Buchanan's 1996 Victory speech in NH http://buchanan.org/blog/... Here is part of it: Quote PB: Friends, this is not a victory for a man. Again, this a victory for cause. It is the cause of a brand new bold conservatism in American politics; conservatism that gives voice to the voiceless, that speaks up for the right to life of the innocent unborn; A conservatism, the conservatism that looks out for the men and women of this country whose jobs have been sacrificed on the altars of trade deals done for the benefit of trans-national corporations who have no loyalty to our country, and no loyalty to anybody. “This is a victory, a victory for the good men and women of middle America who cannot understand why there is deafness in washington and silence about the fact the standard of living of our working men and women in middle class have been stagnating, while profits have been soaring. They call me names, somebody tonight called me a socialist, they call me “the right,” they can’t figure out where we are: right, left, new deal, where is that fellow? he’s some strange creature from the 30’s, no, he’s 60’s, 1700’s, we don’t know where he’s from. Well listen, where we’re coming from, we’re conservatives of the heart, we care about the people. We’re going to give voice to the voiceless. We speak up for those who have no representative. We’re going to go to Washington. We will be a lobbyist for those who don’t have a lobbyist in Washington, D.C. This new conservatism this is dedicated, this new conservatism is committed to many things, and one thing we’re going to do, we’re going out and after GATT and NAFTA, and we’re going to recapture the lost sovereignty of our country, and we’re going to bring it home. We’re going to make America, we’re going to make America the constitutional republic again of our founding fathers’ dreams. |
Pat Buchanan needs to take Econ 101. Free trade ALWAYS is more beneficial than trade barriers: all but a handful of economists believe this. For every American worker who loses a job to NAFTA etc. there are many more who GAIN jobs elsewhere in the economy. Trade barriers are like unions. Yes, for the lucky few who retain jobs at higher wages than they otherwise could command in a free market, they are better off. Everyone else, including workers who cannot get jobs because the demand for US products goes down when they are priced higher, as well as the consumers themselves who have to pay higher prices, loses. Fortunately, the average voter is smarter than Pat Buchanan, which is why he's never been an electoral threat and never should be. Best wishes, Miss Marple |

I just found it interesting relating to the word Victory and the we respect your business, but not the Country that it serves in the ransom note and how it seemed to me that PB was talking about all the Fat cats taking money away from the poor & middle class to make themselves richer... Although, I don't actually support his views... I'll bet there are a quite a few nuts out there that do.... |
