I guess it depends on what you want to believe. French searched the basement and would have moved the chair during his search, as the only place he didn’t go in the basement was in the windowless room where JBR was “found”. Was JR with him? Is that how JR knew there was a chair in front of the door or was he in the basement prior to the police being at the house?(Which is the only way he would have known about the chair in front of the door considering he said he moved it). FW is so far out of this picture that it is no wonder why he wasn’t asked about the chair in his interviews. It was either moved by French or JR.

That's an interesting photo of the chair blocking the train room, which I don't think I have ever seen before.
The strange thing is I don't think Fleet White was ever asked about that chair blocking the train room during his deposition, or it's a part of his deposition I have never seen.

Fleet White was the first person down to the train room that morning. My own opinion is that Fleet delibeately blocked that train room door in order to mislead the Boulder cops into thinking the room was not relevant during the initial search.
John Ramsey was candid about the matter in saying he was a bit mystified about the chair, as well he might be.
There is some background waffle about the chair on the Miss Marple website:
"Chair Blocking Door
•John Ramsey's Report. John Ramsey reported finding a chair blocking the door to the train room when he was in the basement on the morning of December 26. In his 1998 police interviews he stated (p. 155:lines 7-13): "I went in this room here. This door was kind of blocked. We had a bunch of junk down here and there was a chair that was in front of the door. Some old things. I moved the chair, went into this room, went back in here. This window was open, maybe that far." It is clear from the last sentence that John is referring to the train room.
•Why Didn't Fleet White Report a Chair Blocking Door? Internet poster Athena has pointed out that Fleet White, who had searched the basement that morning prior to John (6:06 AM), did not report this chair blocking the door even though he reported seeing the train room window. One possibility is that he simply forgot. A second is that to get into the train room, he may have moved the chair in front of the door leading to the wine cellar room. Since he also reports looking inside the wine cellar room that morning, he may have simply moved the chair back in front of train room door to unblock the door leading back to the wine cellar room, which was immediately adjacent (floor plan).
•Why Didn't Officer French Report a Chair Blocking Door? Many believe that Officer French inspected the basement immediately on his arrival at the house around 5:59 AM (chronology). But according to Steve Thomas's account, French did not search basement until after 8:10 AM (chronology). This is likely after John Ramsey searched the basement (in the 7:00-8:00 AM range), hence John presumably had moved the chair by that point.
•Could Intruder Leave Door Blocked? But this raises a question of how an intruder could get through that door to escape out the window and leave the chair blocking the door. Internet poster Tricia has elaborated on the isssues raised by John's evidence."
John Ramsey implied that the chair was blocking the door long before that night.
The excerpt from the police interviews about this has been posted many times before but as usual, you people just ignored it.

My point is the chair was not blocking the door. It was just inconveniently placed and likely weighed all of 2 pounds. You’d push it aside with your foot.

We get that. The bigger point is how is an intruder going to pull the chair back in front of that door once he's shut it and on the inside of the room?
I don't think anyone ever made an issue over how heavy the chair was.

18 MIKE KANE: Okay. And then I think you
19 said you did go in the basement to see how
20 (INAUDIBLE) Could you like just picture that scene
21 again and walk me through it?
22 JOHN RAMSEY: Well, when I came down, I
23 mean, one of the things I noticed, okay, that DOOR
24 IS STILL BLOCKED?
25 MIKE KANE: What do you mean it was

1 blocked?
2 JOHN RAMSEY: Well, THERE WERE SOME BOXES
3 and there was like a BARSTOOL KIND OF THING
4 SITTING THERE. IT WASN'T OBVIOUS TO ME THAT
5 ANYBODY HAD GONE THROUGH BECAUSE I HAD TO MOVE THE
6 CHAIR TO GET IN, which I did. And then I came back
7 in here and I noticed the window was broken, which
8 fits from when I did it. But the window was open
9 slightly.

1) That picture "moonjack" posted was definitely not a "bar stool."
2) The door to the train room opened inward. That explains how the chair could be pulled back in front of the door before closing it...but the question is WHY would an "intruder" do that? Why would such a thing even matter to them? How would/could that be some kind of "clever little clue?" A clue about WHAT? I think JR got just a little TOO defensive when Smit questioned him about that chair. And, as usual, Smit just let it go. Yeah. Hellov a great detective, that Smit. LOL

Yep, and Henri, THAT's why 'Killah Fleet' went back down to the basement, to make sure he could get that big old chair out of the way in case they 'put 2+2 together' and he had to go back out the way he came in. Dayum, this is good shit! Want some?

Thanks for this TTH. None of their interviews were followed up with any questions of substance. Their answers were allowed to remain without anyone ever asking for clarification or further details. No follow up questions were ever asked. Yeah, that Smit was a great detective but must have been absent the day they taught interrogation 101

Are we to believe that the ole intruder made sure to leave the chair back in front of the door while he went back through the house to escape? Is that the reason we are to believe the intruder exited through the basement window which was totally undisturbed? I think not.

John's use of the word "still" blocked, as you said, is a giveaway

I wouldn't mess with Gator if I was you! He hasn't had any anal sex today so he's been going through anal withdrawals. He's a little agitated at the moment.

And he's not lying about what he say's. Him and Les Martin used the golf clubs.

Not only that, how could an intruder who LEFT via the window pull that chair back in front of a closed door like that?
*** Bill Ramsey. is a small (135 lbs.), thin male who has had years of Karate training at numerous schools. He is very agile, aggressive and he has an explosive temper. His last girlfriend had beat marks about her upper body and cigarette burns as well. She was found dead. The local authorities stated Jennifer had a seizure! We all know about Sgt. Drew Peterson's wife who was found in her bath tub. The local authorities said it was an accidental drowning. She was murdered by her police officer / husband.* His friends / co-workers helped cover it up. He is now in jail. Back to Bill Ramsey---Did Bill ENTER the house via the lower, ground level window? The iron grate was moved and replaced. The grass was under the grate vs. along both sides of the grate. This indicated that the grate was lifted up and then returned to it's original position. Bill had many ways of LEAVING the house. IE. unlocked doors. Remember---He said he made routine trips every Christmas to retrieve his INHERITANCE. This year---HE WAS TOLD---NO MORE MONEY. JonBenet paid the price. I had grates at my last home. We also had snow on some ares of the property, but not on other areas of the same property.

The police moved the grate. That's how the grass got under it.
You might want to read up on the case.

Burke and John Ramsey need to be asked point blank if Jonbenet was struck in the heads with a golf club.

Jonbenet was not attacked by a monster like the kids in CT. She died amoung the people entrusted to love her.

Daily Horoscope for May 25

Aquarius

You're very feisty and energetic and there's a lot you want to achieve. You'll get rather impatient if anyone stands in your way. A close emotional relationship will either be sexy and exciting beyond belief, or bad-tempered and tetchy. If you're in a grumpy mood, try to work out why - and what would improve matters. One thing that's bound to help is physical exercise, because it will burn off any excess nervous energy.
