Really? Then why did she stop practicing law??? It would seem to me that if she worked so hard to achieve that goal, it should be even harder to walk away from it.

The Romney campaign relishes this fight. There is only one person in this race who has already cut Medicare for seniors, and that is President Obama. ObamaCare cut Medicare for America’s seniors by $700 billion. Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan have a bipartisan plan to strengthen Medicare for today and tomorrow’s seniors. Obama’s campaign has accused Mitt Romney of committing crimes and killing people, and now they have turned their smear campaign to Paul Ryan. They have lost all credibility.”
You would think that after the Obamacrats passed the ever unpopular ObamaCare, which robs Medicare of more than $716 billion to fund ObamaCare, they wouldn’t want to focus on the $700 billion Medicare cuts. You would be wrong. On Face the Nation this morning, Stephanie Cutter called Obama’s $700 million in Medicare cuts stolen from taxpayers to fund ObamaCare an “achievement.???
More than half of this country are bums, reprobates, and others who want the government to take care of them. They dont care that Obama is a marxist and wants us to be more like Europe, they think they're entitled to a living. I dont think we can beat the numbers....You dont have to try and convince me, I know what's happening. I'll vote for Romney and I'm glad he picked Ryan, but the mob may rule at the end of the day. They will not be satisfied until they ruin the world. All you have to do is read their inane dribble.....I wish us luck.

Not going to happen, the economic failure BO will get the boot as did Carter and Bush sr. and for the same reasons, a bad economy and high unemployment. No one since FDR has won re election with the unemployment rate over 8%.
People vote with their wallets and BO is a failure who has added $6 trillion to the debt and given away billions to his bundlers in failed green energy projects.
I hope you're right. We can sit back and watch democrat/communist burn their houses down in protest.

Funny, I thought it was the railroads that made America a power house.

I noticed in Obama's speech welcoming Ryan to the race, he alluded to Ryan being a "Washington insider". Last I heard, Ryan is from Wisconsin, you remember, where they kicked the communist/public unions to the curb. lol.

And so it goes wrote:
<quoted text>
The TPC was dishonest. Presidential candidates have always posted a general direction for tax reforms; none in the past were required to "fill in the details". Then to add to their dishonesty they claim not to assume anything then made countless assumptions.
What is your basis for saying the Tax Policy Center was dishonest? Do you have any evidence at all that they are dishonest with respect to their analysis of Romney's tax proposal? How about providing a link to an expert or credible source that disputes their methodology and approach to obtaining the results they did?

If they were dishonest, why hasn't Mitt Romney's campaign provided a specific rebuttal to the results showing where they went wrong? Don't you think that if they were liars, Romney should have been able to blow the report out of the water? Didn't happen.

Help me out here, because I'm just not sure which news sources you consider unbiased. Could you provide me a list of some of the media sites you consider to be fair and unbiased?

What resonates in my mind is that from such diverse kinds of publications, we continue to read similar analyses of Paul Ryan's extreme perspectives on the budget and on Medicare. I provided a sampling from across a broad spectrum, but apparently all of those were "liberal rags" in your view. Is there any mainstream news site that isn't a "liberal rag" that you can recommend?

We can certainly reduce debt by cutting off arms and legs - no doubt about it. It is extremely odd to me that the far right wants to force more women to have unwanted pregnancies and babies by closing Planned Parenthood (a Mitt Romney promise) at a time that as many as 40% of these babies are being born to unwed mothers without the resources for self-support much less supporting a child as well, because they just love babies and value human life. On the other hand, they have absolutely no compunction about gutting SNAP, Medicaid, and any other form of social welfare subsidy.

Just an aside about polarity. Fashion designers are now focusing their efforts on upscale fashion for toddlers and tykes - jumping into a newly lucrative market, with the couture houses across the globe producing $500-600 all the way up to $1500 little folks designer dresses for your pre-schooler to run off to school and smear with finger paints. There is an elitist snob mentality taking root in this country that is apparently so compelling that, even here on these threads, we have blue collar laborers who fancy themselves as the 1% and who completely disdain and disrespect their own kind by calling them lazy good for nothing welfare bums. Who can blame the elite from seeing us this way when this is how some of us see ourselves?

It should be a prerequisite to run for higher office that a candidate must spend six months living at the poverty level - just so they really understand the issue firsthand.

No Jack. It wasn't you man. Sure! You are an idiot and all that. But you don't bother me. It's all these effing tea baggers around here. You see, I've been making a little money on the side printing anti-Obama stickers, mugs, hats and t-shirts and selling them out of the back of my pickup in the parking lot of the local wal-mart store so you can imagine all the anti-Obama crap I hear from my customers every day. They never have anything new. It's always the same old lame crap. "foreigner"; "Birth Certificate"; Social Security Number"; "Communist"; "Muslim"; "Socialist"...etc... etc...
I just smile and take their money. I don't even tell them that I'm giving 10% towards Obama's reelection campaign.
Do me a favor. Make up something fresh and new. If it's any good, I'll print it on a bumper sticker and sell it to talibaggers.
Did you get all the right permits to be selling those items? I've seen kids lemonade stands get shut down over not having permits. Are you claiming the money on your taxes? You wouldn't want to be called a hypocrite for not paying your fair share, now would you?

I am going to burst your bubble, but having worked in a school system that had children representative from all socio-economic statuses, I will tell you who had their children dressed to the nines, with expensive athletic shoes to match each outfit. It wasn't the kids who parents were doctors and lawyers. It was mostly those who had case numbers. I don't begrudge anybody nice things, but it seems that parents' priorities to make sure their kids look "rich", rather than saving for their futures so that they can actually be richer after getting an education seems lost on them. Several doctors' kids have come through, dressing like an average kid, without expensive shoes to match each outfit. We should have a better monitoring system in place to see who gets help, because nobody can afford those kinds of outfits while being on the dole. Fraud is obviously more rampant than this government will admit.

Now, you need to slow down and read what I wrote - not what you witnessed. I am describing $600 dollar pre-school dresses - not Nike tennis shoes which are another absurdity of people trying to appear to be "as good" in a material world.

Once the province of Ralph Lauren and Burberry, now such high end designers as Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior and other luxury houses are dressing the children of the wealthy. They're aren't dressing the children you observed, because these children aren't in YOUR classroom. They're in private schools.

Just a little FYI; Have you ever been to a swap meet? Knock-off designer duds abound, and unless you've enjoyed the longevity and durability and feel of an authentic Louis Vuitton purse, a casual look at the cheap replicas from China can fool a lot of folks. I think it's a pity that money is wasted on such frivolity.

Most doctors and attorneys no longer send their children to public schools in large metropolitan areas with the exception of high income district schools. In those schools, you wouldn't have seen much of what you describe. So, I'd have to assume you weren't teaching school in a high income neighborhood. In fact, I know you weren't from all the negative posts you've made about student behavior.

Doctors and lawyers do send their kids to our city's school system. The shoes are the real deal, but their mama's Dolce and Gabanna bags are fakes. Looking "rich" is more important than setting the stage for their own kids to actually have a chance at being richer than their parents. As I said, this is a small town, where the rich, middle and poor kids attend. Actually it is one of the top ten schools in this state, and has even had a mention in Redbook a few years ago. Unfortuntely, bad behavior is present in the children of all socio-economic brackets fo various reasons. I am not interested in hyper expensive bags, however I know one of quality when I see it.
