Why not go to war with Mexico instead of Libya?

Various people have been clamoring for United States military involvement in Libya. I have no idea why. I want Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi dead, but the U.S. could have accomplished that long ago and in a different way. So why should we now go to war with Libya?

Are the Libyans attacking us or directly threatening our national security? Would the rebels fighting the Libyan government be an improvement over the current government? Would it be better for U.S. service members to die instead of Libyans? Does the Constitution authorize our involvement in such a war?

These are questions I would like answered. Nevertheless, if people need another war, let us declare war against Mexico.

The Department of Homeland Security estimates that 11 million illegal aliens live in the U.S. I’m guessing that many of them came here by way of the Mexican-U.S. border. This amounts to an invasion and occupation of our nation. And that’s a bad thing. Correct? Or are invasions and occupations of nations only wrong when the U.S. does them?

The boiling point for me came in May 2010, when Mexican President Felipe Calderón denounced Arizona for having the audacity to attempt to protect its people. This was tantamount to saying that we have no right to govern our own nation; no right to stop his invasion and colonization.

The federal government exists to protect its citizens. The White House and the U.S. Congress should perform their constitutional duties by securing our borders, deporting all illegal aliens, and telling Calderón to end his War on America. If Calderón refuses, then the Congress should take the necessary, constitutional steps to stop him and Mexico from continuing their invasion and colonization of America.
