WRONG! Global warming goes back to the middle to late 1950s.
Thanks for reinforcing my actual point, which is that Al Gore is an ephemeral latecomer in the global warming issue. Half the nut-jobs on these sites seem to think Gore invented AGW.

What happened to global warming?

From your link:

"Both sides have very different forecasts. The Met Office says that warming is set to resume quickly and strongly.
It predicts that from 2010 to 2015 at least half the years will be hotter than the current hottest year on record (1998).

Sceptics disagree. They insist it is unlikely that temperatures will reach the dizzy heights of 1998 until 2030 at the earliest. It is possible, they say, that because of ocean and solar cycles a period of global cooling is more likely."

I like this: it means there are two verifiable predictions about what is going to happen over the next 5 years, based on the conflicting viewpoints and science claims. After that, one side or the other is going to have to concede on this issue.

Global warming is another money grabbing hoax, this time it's liberals that fell for it. I don't know how true this is, but I heard polar ice caps were melting on several other planets in our solar system, the sun was getting warmer and we've had an ice age or two that ended without industrialization.

Nothing is, "comparable to the global climate effects of AGW," with 7 billion (and rising) souls exhaling Co2, we have a problem, Houston.
During the Little Ice Age, average global temperatures were 1-1.5 degree Celsius (2-3 degrees Fahrenheit) cooler than they are today. The cooler temperatures were caused by a combination of less solar activity and large volcanic eruptions. Cooling caused glaciers to advance and stunted tree growth. Livestock died, harvests failed, and humans suffered from famine and disease.

Take careful note of, "Livestock died, harvests failed, and humans suffered from famine and disease."
NB: As you didn't know the extent of the LIA, why would you expect me or anyone else to believe anything you have to say?

I have noticed that depictions of Mars when I was in school showed a prominent ice cap at the north pole of Mars. Depictions these days show either a skimpy one, or none at all. What's up with THAT?

Yeah what a pity the Right did not politicise it into a question of national security and commit a trillion dollar to getting off the oil instead of wasting it on useless wars.

We would be just about ready to tell the Middle East, Russia, and Venezuela to go xxxx themselves by now.

AGW or no AGW, this would be a good thing for the West.

As I said, I heard ice caps are melting on several other planets in our solar system, which means the sun is probably getting hotter. Less sun spots I heard. Could be a big solar flare soon, meaning we all die. Liberals want to waste our money on alternative energy, when we should be refocusing our efforts on, ohh I don't know, not being burnt to death instantly.

There is no help for the Mega-flare, so save your cash. But it is quite balmy here for a November evening, so if this is global warming, I like it.

Please do get an education, then look up reasons for temperature rise other than the theory that's been pounded into you're head. You may find something unexpected.

AND....(Al Gore who invented the internet) running around lying and fear mongering to everyone for years during the Clinton administration, the world was going to end when Y2K rolled over.

The biggest lie and hoax ever perpetuated by a government administration on to the public to "stimulate" the economy.

As a result people were buying extra food, power generators, guns and ammo, gas gussling SUV's to drive to the mountains while polluting the enviroment, believing planes would fall out of the sky and taking money out of the bank because computers would fail, people buying new computers, all which did grow the economy...

Clinton said "It's The Economy Stupid". I have always said "It's The Internet Stupid". Al Gore spewing his fear mongering doomesday promotions of the day, misleading people to get them scared to spend money....

Why should we believe Al Gore's global warming fear mongering, hocus-pocus Theories, Lies and Untruth this time around???

At least Bush's Ranch is greener than Al Gore's Mansion. The Pasminco Zinc Mine, is situated on Gore's plantation...

The "Left-Wing Lug-Nut" hatemongers will decide the outcome of this historic Obama presidency....

You really are missing the point.

Al Gore did not invent AGW. I said it was a concern of scientists from at least the early 80s. I was corrected on that - it was the early 50s.

I don't like Al Gore. Still, the veracity or otherwise of AGW does not stand or fall on Al Gore or any other "inebriated, foolish, poisonous Liberal" as you would put it.

AGW stands or falls on the science, period.

Y2K was also known as the millennium bug, an imaginary computer problem related to year 2000, the threat was exaggerated by Clinton/Gore to sell over-priced solutions and stimulate the economy...

Skeptically, Global warming is the accelerated warming of the atmosphere due to human activities, the Gore Skeptics rant... To sell over-priced solutions, create green jobs and stimulate the economy...

Have you ever seen any pictures of Washington crossing the Delaware, when was the last time you saw the Delaware look anything like that? The LIA?

Daily Horoscope for January 4

Pisces

Family, friends and in-laws are all hard to please. It is better to please yourself for once, dear Pisces, than to bang your head against a wall. You need to relax and get in touch with your own feelings. Do not hesitate to speak up for someone you care about. Someone may try to curtail your freedom. Set them straight and do not give in.
