Science is certain climate change could be a crisis but it has never stated it is certain it is crisis. That isn’t consensus of anything. So the planet is on fire.......... maybe? The IPCC has never stated any crisis was certain, only likely and probably and……….. Deny that!

When it becomes apparent to the most RW Teabagger that burning fossil fuels is causing global warming then we can get with the business of converting to more viable energy sources. So if we can change our methods, global warming will not necessarily become a crisis.

Prove me wrong and find one IPCC report of crisis that isn't riddled with "maybes" and "likely" etc. and never for sure, or certain or imminent.....the biggest crisis imaginable needs absolute proof otherwise it's faith, not science.

For how many years have you insisted that scientists never refer to probabilities but only to certain proof? And yet they keep using all those frustratingly indefinite terms like "probability", "likelihood", "Gaussian distribution" and "climate dice"...just to piss you off.

You lie about science. Science results are on a probabilistic basis. You've been told this over and over again. You don't understand science but you deny it with lies like in the above poist.

How many times do you need to be reminded that science does not deal in absolutes? It is likely to a high degree that burning fossil fuels will cause detrimental global warming.

There was no way out except government aid to the poor folks who had no money and no way to get it. I agree that suffering was heavy under all forms of government but that is no reason to believe that capitalism is immune. A government like ours that is able to meld the private and public sectors is the most viable. There is no reason to let multitudes suffer unduly just because of a depression. Capitalism has its own pitfalls the same as any other economic system. Capitalism is not God. No, capitalism isn't a god and neither is socialism, or enviromentalism dispite how you worship it. Governemnt shouldn't be giving out money period. Because it was nothing more than taking money out of the wallets of the rich and handing most of it back. So of course it didn't work any better than the WPA. Taking a dollar and then only handing back ninty cents isn't a trickle down, it was slow speed robbery. Trickle down works because the rich do not like having money sit. There is a saying that the poor pay interest while the rich earn it. What it means it the rich like to see their money working to earn more money. It is how they stay rich. Governments do best with economic trouble when they do little. What they did was just lenghten the amount of time the depression lasted. If anything the government that bailed the American economy out was in Japan and they did that Dec 7, 1941 in a place called Pearl Harbor. As for the idea of governements making everyone equal, the only way they can make everyone equal is to make them equally poor.

Your "probablistic basis: is another way of saying blind guesses. Science deals with facts and theories that are either proved or disproved. The speed of light is a fact. AGW was a theory that was disproved. Telling fiction repeatedly will not change the fiction into fact. Posting it over and over it will remain what it is.

I agree that,"capitalism isn't a god and neither is socialism, or enviromentalism." The so called "trickle down" idea of economics is not a recognized economic theory. It was born in politics and has not worked. If you will follow history, you will find that it ends up with economic disaster. The role of our government is to create an atmosphere where the citizens are able prosper in an atmosphere that allows everyone to share in the freedoms and opportunities. To do so, the citizens must be protected from the greed and whims of those who have the power.

The role of our government is to create an atmosphere where the citizens are able prosper in an atmosphere that allows everyone to share in the freedoms and opportunities. To do so, the citizens must be protected from the greed and whims of those who have the power. Actually it is. It may not be recognized by liberals but by many economist do recognize it. Economics and politics are intertwined and always have been. As for history, many government attemps such as Roosevelt's was one of them. The New Deal was a bad deal, a bad hand. As for the role of government, anytime it has tried to play Robin Hood, to protect people from greed it usually ends up doing far more harm than good. It ends up restricting freedoms and denying opportunities. It prevents those who want to rise from rising and protects those who are in power. After all, some of those in power are in political power. Use political power to squeeze the rich for personal wealth and the poor you claim remain poor.
