I wouldn't call this Global warming, I'd call it Climate change. Some places around earth are cooler than they have ever been, Whilst other places are warmer than usual. I call it Climate shift.

Are you saying that there's more than one English speaking person living in the Emirates?
That would come as a shock to many Americans.

I bet you are right about that.

For those who do not know...

80% of the population here are foreigners from all parts, and the lingua franca, in any shop, business, or bar you go to is English.

Not to those who serve in her military or work for "big oil" or defense contractors.

For those who are liberals I have no doubt that they had no clue that there were many english speaking people in the Middle East, Europe, or the Asia.

My post was about crime and gun ownership in the US, not Canada.
You cannot 'compare' oranges and oranges. You need something OUTSIDE of the Gun Culture but with the same level of economic and social development to have a real comparison.

Murder per capita is just one example. The gun culture 'feeds into' every other crime so it is a good example.

i.e Would violent crime be so popular if burglars didn't find 'armories' worth thousands in the average home with a ready market by 'stick up artists' who can afford to throw the gun away if used? Traceable only to the 'legal' owner?

At least make reasoned arguments, not just ducking and weaving.

With a population of over 313 million, I'm sure a lot of Americans are completely in the dark about most things.

Since you can’t have a little catastrophic climate crisis.....
Scientific consensus says climate change is real but unanimous consensus of it being "deadly" is nonexistent.
There is no proof that “ALL “of the scientists think climate change will be deadly, only scientific talk about it having a wide range of effects so if the scientists can’t even agree if it’s deadly or not, this planet lover assumes the crisis wasn’t real after all. Good news!

Only "deadly" makes newsworthy print, semi-deadly or slightly-deadly don't quite cut the mustard.

The places with the strongest gun cultures have the lowest crime rates.

You may be right:
Why Switzerland Has Lowest Crime Rate In World
Guns are deeply rooted within Swiss culture - but the gun crime rate is so low that statistics are not even kept.

The country has a population of six million, but there are estimated to be at least two million publicly-owned firearms, including about 600,000 automatic rifles and 500,000 pistols.

Nasa has a very informative site on the subject at hand. Not only is climate change a threat, but also our brightest star, the sun. It has deformed and has never seen before black snake like solar flares. Scientists say there is a greater risk of contracting cancer as the sun is producing higher radiation levels which penetrate through our atmosphere.

It is also one of the most REGULATED 'gun cultures'. Actually, almost all of the rifles are locked up (in the citizens home) and available to the citizen only in the event of an armed incursion.

A 'militia armory' with every bullet counted and accounted for.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/1566715.stm

Hardly a comparison to the US 'gun culture'. But then Dirtling is all about spin and misreading. If he bothered to read past the 'guns per capita'.
