The Supreme Court will referee another major clash between the Obama administration and the states, this one over Arizona's crackdown on illegal immigrants.

Judged: 6 6 6 Where in the world do you get your information from? Anthrax is a chemical agent. Ebola is from Africa. Tuberculosis is at the lowest levels ever recorded. SARS is from Asia. Malaria is carried by mosquitoes. Not humans. Besides that it can not even exist in our moderate climate. The rest are just as silly. Especially your statistics. Thanks for the laugh though. |

Judged: 5 5 4 How silly. You can overlook the utterly fraudulent post and then focus on weaponized anthrax versus naturally occurring anthrax. Anthrax was eradicated after Louis Pasteur developed his vaccine in 1881. The last reported case in the US involved an infected cat in 2001. To mention Malaria is just stupid since it does not occur in the US. The lengths some people will go to to justify their prejudices is incredible. |

Judged: 3 3 2 Memo from Moron makes up stuff and NEVER has any links to back up what it says. Maybe it can eventually learn, but I doubt it, as its comprehension level is that of a dead vole (along with a few other posters around here). http://www.medicinenet.com/anthrax/article.ht... Quote: What is anthrax? Anthrax is a life-threatening infectious disease that normally affects animals, especially ruminants (such as goats, cattle, sheep, and horses). Anthrax can be transmitted to humans by contact with infected animals or their products. In recent years, anthrax has received a great deal of attention as it has become clear that the infection can also be spread by a bioterrorist attack or by biological warfare. Anthrax does not spread from person to person. End Quote And its comment that the rest of that post is nothing to be concerned about...well, Tuberculosis most certainly *is* something to be concerned about. http://www.canadafreepress.com/index.php/arti... Quote: In the United States, Tuberculosis infection and disease occur most often among people born in areas of the world where TB is common, such as Asia, Africa, and Latin America. In most cases, these foreign-born persons become exposed to and infected in their country of birth and bring the contagious disease into the US. Of all TB cases reported to the Centers for Disease Control in 1997 — the last year studied — 39% were in foreign-born persons. This is an increase from 1986, when 22% of cases were in foreign-born persons. Tuberculosis case rates were seven times greater in the foreign-born compared with the US-born population. Also, foreign-born individuals now represent 46 percent of all tuberculosis cases reported in the United States compared to 27 percent of cases eight years ago. The CDC is currently processing new data on the illegal alien-TB connection. TB cases come from Mexico, Philippines, and Vietnam, by and large. All people who apply for immigration and refugee status are screened for TB disease before coming to the United States. Immigrants with TB disease who are infectious at the time of screening are required to receive treatment before they are allowed entry into the United States. However, the majority of those entering the US are illegal aliens who undergo no physical exams nor do they undergo treatment for their diseases. According to the Department of Health and Human Services, the states with the highest numbers of multi-drug resistant TB cases during the last ten years were New York, California, Texas and Florida. These are the same states that are experiencing increased illegal alien populations. One of the fears of many Americans is the fact that corporations involved in managing slaughterhouses and food-processing operations hire unscreened illegal aliens who may be contaminated with TB or worse — the deadly Bird Flu. For example, Tyson Foods, a Fortune 100 corporation specializing in poultry and meat products, openly employs thousands of illegal aliens. End Quote |

Judged: 2 2 2 And yet, the CDC does not deny it *could* occur again, and still does during blood transfusions. Even one is one too many. http://www.cdc.gov/Features/dsMalariaSurveill... Quote: Though malaria transmission in the United States was successfully interrupted in the 1950's, CDC continues to conduct malaria surveillance in order to detect locally acquired cases. Since the Anopheles mosquito that carries the malaria parasite still exists in the United States, there is a constant risk that malaria could be re-introduced. In 2007, CDC received reports of 1,505 cases of malaria among person in the United States. All but one of these cases were acquired outside of the United States; one was acquired through a blood transfusion. End Quote If this can happen in Italy, it can happen anywhere...we don't need an increased risk of SARS. http://wwwnc.cdc.gov/eid/article/9/9/03-0353_... Quote: Between November 2002 and March 2003, 17 cases of malaria (1 fatal) were observed in illegal Chinese immigrants who traveled to Italy through Africa. A further cluster of 12 was reported in August, 2002. Several immigrants traveled by air, making the risk of introducing sudden acute respiratory syndrome a possibility should such illegal immigrations continue. End Quote |

Judged: 2 2 2 Guess not! If it was eradicated, how did a cat get it in 2001? And, according to DHS, there was a case last year. Guess it wasn't eradicated. http://www.homelandsecuritynewswire.com/anthr... 12 August 2011 Quote: Government health officials are currently investigating a case of anthrax exposure in Minnesota after tests confirmed that an individual hospitalized there had been infected with the dangerous bacteria. Due to the deadly nature of anthrax and its use as a biological weapon, the FBI joined Minnesota health officials in investigating the matter. Officials have concluded that the hospitalized individual became infected naturally after encountering it during his travels. The individual had travelled through several western states including Montana, Wyoming, and North Dakota, before becoming admitted for treatment in Minnesota. Ruth Lynfield, an epidemiologist with the state of Minnesota, concluded that “All evidence points to this case of anthrax being caused by exposure to naturally occurring anthrax in the environment.” End Quote |

Judged: 3 3 3 Homeland Security's Newswire is a joke? They are stating someone, just last year, was infected with naturally occurring Anthrax. So that's a joke to you? How sad. However, obviously it *still* occurs and we may end up seeing more of it. |
