Teacher tells student he could be arrested for saying anything bad about Obama

My comment is really a question. Why hasn't this teacher been reprimanded for yelling at this student? The student has valid questions about Obama, yet the teacher does not want to answer the student. She is heard to say that former president Bush is sh**ty, is that how a teacher should be talking in front of students? The discussion is about Romney and the issue of bullying in school. She seems to want to deify Obama, and is very confrontational when the student says wasn't Obama a bully in school? The situation just escalates from that moment on. It does not matter what her political affiliation is. A teacher attempting to force her political opinions on students is going too far. That is one of the great things about our country, having the freedom of choice to decide which political affiliation we want to believe in. This student is clearly within his first amendment rights when questioning the teacher. I hope something is done to remedy the situation, she is obviously in need of some counseling.

Teachers in the U S do deify their favorite politicians. And they do attempt to pass their opinions on to their students. That is why parents need to discuss every day what they have been told so you can correct any political ideas they have been given where you disagree. Liberalism is taught in our schools. If you want your children to have a choice you need to inform them about Conservatism yourself

Without a doubt, this poor excuse for an educator should be fired immediately.

This is a learning experience for that teacher, all teachers and the country.

What people should really be worried about is all the primary grade teachers telling a class of seven year olds it would be OK for each of them to have two daddies, or two mommies humping in the kitchen and the seven year olds not being technically savvy enough to record it.

So what? With unions and the ever famous tenure no one, including the schools or parents can do anything about it! The teacher won't even get a talking too.

The parents of that child need to go meet with the teacher and call her attention to several points. She sounds like a complete idiot!

Don't worry the teachers union will protect her.. if fact they will probably agree with her.

This isn't really anything new in public education (at least during the last 30 years).

This is why parents should (like Cat74 says) pay attention to exactly what their children are being "taught" by some public school teachers.

Many, if not most, parents would probably be shocked by some of the answers they get from their children.

All parents owe it to their children to make sure that they aren't being "brainwashed" (and/or exposed to booze, drugs, and thugs) while they attend school.

I'll bet you a grand that this teacher is black and was offended that anyone would talk bad about a president that feeds her non-working relatives

The teacher is black, and has been suspended with pay, hardly a punishment. We have to work 2 jobs, but it is necessary to keep your children in Private school. Even at that, you have to stay on top of what they are being taught.

Sending a child to ANY public education school is child abuse.

It is disgusting. She is not qualified to do anything more then clean a toilet, and that would be her high point in life.

he goes after a man who served his country overseas (who had problems with with his brain from an explosion when he was there a yr before and sent back before he should have been seeing 6 of his friends killed because of burning of muslin holy book he snap) So he kills 16 people and obama say how sorry we are (which we should be but the person was not medical stable) and send in a army of legals people to charge this man as soon as possible but a muslin major who shot army personal on an army base has not gone to trial 2 yrs and waiting..

Apparently this North Carolina “social studies” teacher was discussing with her class the allegation candidate Romney’s “bullied” a male student in prep school.

A student asked about the time when President Obama “bullied” a girl when he was in middle school (page 61 of Obama’s book; “Dreams From My Father”).

Apparently the teacher objected to the student’s question:

This stupid idiot of a "teacher" is a perfect example of why America is going down the tubes.
Many years ago when I was in a public school, this moronic idiot
would barely qualify to clean the cafeteria floor.

I want to thank this teacher for showing the rest of the country what type of person follows Obama. These are the people voting for him. The clueless, the naive, the ignorant, the uninformed. Had she read his own book, she would have known he admitted to bullying someone in school too. I think 1/2 of America has bullied someone, like it or not.

Ironically, SHE bullied this student! Instead of facilitating a calm, intellectual discussion, she chose to go ballistic and prove she is not worthy of leading a classroom ever again. Very inarticulate person.

The student was calm and had valid questions and comments. Good for him.

I hope she is fired, but we all know firing an African American teacher is nearly impossible, no matter how poorly they do their job. This is another sad commentary on our country's public school system.

Lastly, she did MORE DAMAGE to Obama. He is probably mortified to be aligned with someone of her ilk. Thanks for making conservatives look great!!!

The people who acknowledge this type of behavior is out there won't be shocked by this incident; the people who deny this type of behavior exists will attempt to come up with reasons to refute its authenticity… Very little will change.

I’m also guessing this teacher will remain a teacher and at worse, become some other schools problem… but that is just a guess.

IMO she should be forced to choose a new career path by having her teaching license revoked.

The student in question was on T V this morning, and even he knew the teacher was lying. It is bad when the students are smarter then the teacher. What ever could they learn from someone so stupid? It is a wasted year for them. Hopefully they will get enough complaints they can fire her.
