UPDATE: Kris Allen wins American Idol; The Obama, not gay, factor

I am not a follower of american idol, but cant help but no what happens with all the previews and morning shows talking about it...

I am sooo glad that a young married college student, mid america clean cut representative of america won!

I so agree with you. Adam and Chris are both very talented, and I'm sure Adam will have a great career, but I just love Chris' humble attitude and sweet personality.....he reminds me of my son!

its sad that adam lambert didnt win ...in chriss own word just seconds after they anounced it he said he deserves it....its pretty obvious who votes the most its those little teen girls that cant see talent just a cute little face....all u have to do is watch the last song that chris sang and what about that performance with adam and kiss...WOW!!!!....it is good to know that even though adam got second he is well on his way to stardom**********

I am still in shock-Adam, regardless of his so called drama and perhaps his alleged lifestyle, should have won hands down. Every week I watched and could not wait to see what he would do with the song choices and he was always the last to sing. I am a 64 year old woman, who could be his grandmother. As for Chris, in the beginning of the shows, Simon told him he had brought his wife in to it to soon, by mentioning her. I took that as this would take him off the market, especially to the young girls and he would be off Idol fast. I doubt I will watch Idol another season-to me it seemed fixed. Did I call for Adam-yes, redial and redial, and I wish they would not allow that. It should be one vote per a household number and cell phone number. Adam will be very, very, sucessful, and as for Chris-it will be interesting to see! This clearly should have been a no brainer for Adam, based on the talent, not what they were wearing, etc,. As I said, I am still in shock today as to the outcome.

I am Chris won too. He is just as good looking as he is talented.....YEAH! AND I am older than dirt. His sweet personality really came through. He is a perfect canidate to represent our state and nation with that great voice and humble attitude. I was so proud he showed his respect to Allen. But that is just how Chris is.

And it didn't matter who won Idol. Both Kris and Adam could've gotten record contracts. Danny and Allison probably could have as well.

But its all said and done now... we will all just have to wait and see how the Idol contestants fair in the music world.

Adam Lambert was the one accused of being a screamer. Are you sure you have the names correct?

Personally, I thought Lambert was the better singer, by far, and that it was the "anti-Gay" and "christian values" voters across the nation that beat him.

That was unfair and I could obsess on it, but a poster from another forum helped put my mind to rest with this:
"These are two completely different kind of musicians so it's not really fair to say Adam got robbed or that Kris isn't as deserving. The whole point of American Idol really isn't about winning it. It's a chance to get some exposure and then taking advantage of the opportunities that come your way after that. Both Adam and Kris got that from the show. Congrats to both. I look forward to hearing so much more from both of them."

Kris wasn't "the good" anyway and Adam wasn't "the bad".

If Kris can use a euphamism on national TV, he not THAT good. Good people don't say "friggin". We all know what that means.

I used to get smacked for saying "darn" (pronounced "durn") and just because society at large has gotten much more lax, doesn't mean there aren't good words and bad words out there and "friggin" is a bad word.

You never heard Adam say "friggin" on national TV.

My ears are burning still from having my family subjected to that word while watching American Idol!

First of all I am sure that there was no cheating so what we are proud of our Home state guy and we cast the votes to push him over the top. Kris one fair and square and all the gays are pissed trying to find out how Glambert could of lost.

Sounds like cheating to me.
Even if it wasn't cheating, voting for the wrong reasons was more wrong than cheating.
National forums have asked how so many votes came from Arkansas .. a state with a low population? Cheating by casting votes in multiples of 10 with the help of free AT&T phones and AT&T advice would sure explain that, wouldn't it?

I only watched the show twice both guys are very talented. Lambert would do great in rock and roll and Kris would do great in country. Oh Im not an imbread or a country hick. Reading all this I see alot of sore losers but I didnt see that on tv. Just goes to show you this country is where the war is not over seas. Kris didnt tell At&T to do nothing. If there was cheating it wasnt on his part. Kris is as good as a singer as Lambert and so was the guy in the glasses. Now Mr or Mrs Quarter heres a quarter call someone who cares because this damn yankee living in the south thinks your just a sore loser.
