Stop forcing the gay beliefs and agenda down my throat. I have no problem with gay people I have many friends that are gay and we see eye to eye on matters. They respect my beliefs and I respect theirs. As for me one man one woman makes a marriage. This is the problem today where people just cannot go about in doing their business but take it to the next level where the public is forced into making them believe what ever the agenda, is what you must support. And this is done by attacking anyone that opposes them such as churches, and any other entity that does not support the agenda.

No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws." So please tell me what Constitutional justification you can find for denying law-abiding, taxpaying Gay couples the exactly same legal benefits and responsibilities that Straight couples have always taken for granted. And while you're at it, please explain how providing Gay couples those same benefits and responsibilities harms Straight couples.

Yes, it's time to support civil marriages in America. And kudos to New England (sans RI) and Iowa for supporting marriage equality and fairness. Knowing "Gay" people and disagreeing with marriage. Every one should see where they are coming from, these men or women share homes, money, children and lives together the same as men and women relationships but at the end when one dies they don't have it as easy when family doesn't consider what they had real therefore they are standing up for there rights as humans to make what they have official. Really the ones who want to marry don't live different than married couples, it is the single ones that make you say hmmm....

It doesn't. Marriage is between a man and a woman and has been since there was such a thing as marriage. 70% of Americans support civil unions and would support civil marriage, which could provide gay couples with equal protection under the law as het marriage. If that was what this issue is about, it could have been settled a long time ago, but that's not what it's about. It's about gays wanting their relationships recognized as being as normal as traditional relationships, and for many Americans, for a variety of reasons, it isn't going to happen. Forcing laws through the courts won't change minds and hearts, either. You want equal protection? Then persue civil marriage, domestic partnerships (which many hets would also prefer) or civil unions. And then everyone would have equal protetion under the 14th amendment.

I think Gay Marriage is the single most important issue for young men and women in Bethel. Who cares about the economy as long as Bethel is a welcome home for married gays with children in the school system. They spend more money than straight couples and support education vehemently since many of them are teachers. Come one - Come all!

I agree, marriage is between a MAN and a WOMAN. I don't mind if they allow civil unions, but don't change or try to re write the constitution to the benefit of a minority group. No one is stopping you gays from doing your thing or getting civil unions, but you want more and more. Be thankful for what you gays have and stopping your whining.

Do the right thing and support tort reform. In order to protect anyone who wants to get married we should reign in the costs associated with the dissolution of these unions. Standardize divorce settlements and the costs associated with them.
