May 10, 2012 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: National Public Radio

If anything could predictably induce torrents of Internet reaction, it would be a U.S. president making the surprise disclosure that he supports same-sex marriage.

No, the Republican job bills are an alternative to Obama's socialist claptrap that hasn't worked.

Dear, this is about fairness and equality.

Even a high schooler could understand that - whether their friends are low life, high life, married or single.

You are right - our culture, our country, our upbringing, our parents, our schools teach us morals. I would seriously doubt anyone smart enough to get into Harvard goes there to pick up a moral or two. Loll

1) A society can promote certain values over others. There is no compelling reason to allow gay marriage anymore than it has a reason to allow multiple wives.
2) Asking someone to set aside their religion is like asking someone to set aside their homosexuality.
The separation of church and state was meant to mean the federal government wouldn't have an official religion. It did not mean when you walked into the Capitol Building you became religion free. The only other prohibition was a religious test could not be used in hiring for the federal government.
You've made some good points about separation of church and state. However, the founding fathers had something more serious in mind with that prohibition than what you've stated. The reasons are the same as when King Henry VIII, separated and that's so the Catholic Church or any religion, could have more control over the country than King Henry in the case of England and of course, the government, in the US. To my mind that means that religious laws or prohibitions would not supersede civil laws. Basically, you can practice your religion freely and believe what you want. However, your beliefs will not be imposed on the population as law.

I agree with you about asking someone to set aside their religious beliefs vs asking someone who's homosexual to give up their homosexuality is a fair question. However, it will be decided as most things are decided in this country. If a majority of people approve (by voting or demonstrating) the law will either be passed or it won't.

I grasp the inherit problems for those who are religious and what the Bible says regarding the issue of homosexuality. As I previously stated, I am attempting to be as honest as I can here. I know more fault those who are religious for their objection to gay marriage than I fault those who are homosexual, so I guess that leaves me somewhere in the middle of this issue.

Those thirty-plus jobs bill are crap and that's why they're not going to be accepted. The Republicans are stalling and playing games. Their budget does not address the problems Americans are facing. They only want to obstruct President Obama's plans and give the impression they're trying to assist when actually they're being obstructionists and the public isn't buying it.

The house has nor had any other interest or concern other than making President Obama a one term president. The public view, from both parties and even the Supreme Court Justices is that this congress is the worst in American History. You Republicans should be so proud. However, we're not surprised, no one said they were interested in the needs and concerns of the American people.

Bishop Romney may flip flop a lot, but he also shows that he is a man of consitent character. Along those lines, we saw the same thing when, because he was running for president, he decided to fire the illegal alien working for him.

Btw, did you never get into a fight when you were 15?
Bishop Romney did NOT DENY it, but he apologized now that he's running for president. It didn't matter if the kids were gay or not. He was a bully. He said "atta girl" to another boy. The holding down of the boy and cutting his hair was assault and battery. There are no excuses. They were not pranks. They were bullying and if you did that shit, shame on you. Repent. I wasn't involved in fights at school and I sure as hell didn't START fights. I was raised as a Christian.

Oh yes my dear, I definitely hate everything about Obama, especially his destruction of prosperity. My career has been put on hold for 2 years now thanks to this deplorable economy, and I'm frankly sick and tired of the bs. Don't worry, when we fix the economy, we'll fix it for you good Democrats as well. ;-)
