Sen. Rand Paul mocks Obama, says his views couldn't 'get any gayer’

I just addressed someone who opposes equality for gays and lesbians on another thread who said, "The family is...the 'first form of government'... marriage is a fundamental constitutional right & international human right precious because it comes before government and cannot be manipulated, re-defined, or ripped from its foundations....As old as Pericles humanity has noted the family as a bulwark against state tyranny." -Fitz

I responded, "What is ironic is that we are both saying the same thing."

Gays and lesbians aren't opposing the heterosexual idea of family. We aren't asking the government to manipulate, re-define or rip it apart.

Yet some want to manipulate, re-define or rip apart the families we create.(Ron Paul, Santorum, Mitt Romney, etc.)

Rand Paul mocked Obama for citing the Golden Rule in what I consider to be a very crude gay joke about gay sex. Now even the Golden Rule is being claimed the exclusive property of anti- gay heterosexuals.

Who's the real tyrant here? The people who are following the Golden Rule and supporting our rights, or the ones who want to ignore what they preach? Another poster,‘RevKen’ referred to this as “Instituionalised Hypocrisy”. I couldn’t phrase it any better.

Well I’m not going to consent to his version of the Golden Rule anymore than I will submit to the idea that Fundamentalists have a patent on the word “marriage” or that blacks are the only group who can use the term “civil rights” or that only Hispanics can use the word “Tacos”.

These groups and people don’t seem to see that not only are they trying to re-define and rip apart gays and lesbians, they are in fact attacking the families we came from and the families of those heterosexuals who support our cause.

I love Rand Paul. He's one of the only people in the Senate that says what is on his mind and usually it's quite true.

You can't pick and choose which part of the Bible you're going to believe in and accept and which ones you aren't. Obama, who claims to be a Christian is a huge hypocrite. A true Christian loves Jesus and hates sin. Being Gay is a sin. Being a thief, a liar, a pedophile and a hypocrite are all sins. Does Jesus still love you, yes He does, but He hates your sin, just like he hates mine.

If you think you can continue a lifestyle of sin and call yourself a Christian, you're a hypocrite and a liar.

Being gay is NOT NORMAL and we hetrosexuals should not condone that behavior as normal. The morality of this great country has plummeted and gay marriage is just one more step in the wrong direction. Obama needs to go and soon.

Rand is not in the senate to be a preacher, he is in the senate to protect the rights of the citizens, not the corporations or the churches, but the citizens. Gay people are citizens and therefore they should be treated equally under the law.

Bigotry condoned and supported by the church is no less bigotry. Now go to Red Lobster and be the abomination you are.

This one of the many reasons it is so hard to feel sorry for the gay agenda. You all are so full of hate. I don't quite get the Red Lobster comment but I don't get being gay either.

If I were a pedophile would you give me equal rights too? They can't help it, they were born that way. What about a bisexual polygamist? Should they be able to marry several men and women and should all of them have equal rights? Should they all be on the head of the households insurance? Should they all be dependents on their taxes? Or is there by some chance you think that behavior is abnormal?

You're right about one thing, the morality of this country has plummeted but not for the reasons you mention. Selfishness and materialism are the real culprits and we are all guilty.
