Does anyone think they are going to formally lift their ban? I don't. It seems that with all the support of former and current scouts and leaders, maybe a new organization could be formed. One that is inclusive regardless of orientation or one's chosen faith.

Thank you BSA for not caving to the activist. And to Dragonhung , While the media likes to make it sound like it has alot of support in the scouting community that is just not so, The new organizations have tried and failed to survive because of it

I wish there was some equivalent of the Boy Scouts that didn't discriminate. They don't discriminate against gays in the UK Boy Scouts so why do they do so in America?

You can thank he LDS for that. They have used money and influence to push their own agenda in the BSA. They have twisted and reinterpreted the Scout Oath and Law to suit their ideals, and beliefs. Do a little research and you'll see that once the LDS got involved with scouting it went down hill. I hate to draw parallels here but.. I'd think people would look at the way the LDS has pushed and bullied the BSA before they vote for mittens... just saying.

The BSA is nationally recognized as having one of the most effective youth protection processes, involving youth instruction, parental commitment, and background/reference checks. Why would they change that? They had a problem and have effectively corrected it. Bravo BSA

God bless the Boy Scouts! xox Friends, we are getting good news here when God's Law is being followed and the sin of homosexuality is being banned. With NC being the 31st state to recently reject homo marriage, God's Word IS winning. Amen! PS - Add the Wisconsin victory in there and things are looking up indeed. Amen!

I guess discriminating against gays is an American tradition.

I asked a den mother one time what religion one has to be to be part of the Boy Scouts. She said that they have to believe in something that they couldn't be an atheist. I guess that that means one could believe in a sky god or sea god and be allowed membership. Strange is all I can say.

When the majority of people are bigoted of course they are going to win. I don't believe it has anything to do with God or God's Word.
