Don't give them any ideas. They are stupid enough to try that.

If gay couples start divorcing, straight couples will lose all respect for the institution and they will abandon it entirely. If divorce means anything you want, it means nothing at all.

You guys are on a roll this morning!

I'd much rather they mull allowing same-sex couples to marry, but that will likely take a change in the state Senate leadership.

Pft, you expect progress in America? This isn't Japan, we don't do progress, we like our cozy dark cave dwellings.

Last time I checked, gays can't marry (or divorce) in Japan either.

Slowly but surely things are changing. I get as frustrated as the next person, then I look back and remember where we were just 10 years ago.

Make that 3 years ago.. You know, before Iowa, Vermont, New Hampshire, New York, and the District of Columbia... Or 8 years ago before Massachusetts and Connecticut.

True, but Japan is passing us in many other areas. I just don't think anyone there cares about marriage like we do in the US, or Europe for that matter. I admit to not knowing much about their laws on the issue, but the gay people there seem pretty happy with whatever they're doing in Japan, so meh. I was just joking anyhow. ;)

However, in Washington state I have seen us go backwards. 20 years ago gay bashing was unheard of, now we have people attacking gay people in the Capitol Hill area, which is known for the gay bars and "fabulous" shopping. We had a transgendered child hit in the head with a baseball bat by some scumbag christian mouth breather lady a couple years ago. I'd say that the recent struggle for marriage equality has actually made matters worse, but not because they want marriage, but because the bigots are getting very violent again.

I was under the impression that in order to "SAVE" the true meaning and institution of Marriage.....one would prevent divorce, but those that want to prevent Gays and Lesbians from marrying find divorce acceptable!!!

It was funny, they tried that amendment thing here after we passed gay marriage, they can't even get the signatures to put it on the ballot. Laughable, these bigots are.

Now we are going to say that they can't divorce either?! Try telling a strait couple they can't divorce! You have to live in a state 6 (I think) months before you can get a divorce in any state. So if a gay couple get married in Mass. but live in a state that doesn't recognise gay marriage what do they do? They can't go back to Mass. to get the divorce because you have no residency there. Just another stupid law keeping people from their rights as citizens!

Unfortunatley there will be some people (on both sides) who will resort to violence, especially when they feel they are on the losing side. The anti-gays in Washington are likely getting very frustrated that marriage equality is moving forward and they feel powerless to stop it. I would expect more violence in the months to come, especially if they fail to get enough signatures to get Ref 74 on the ballot.

Don't count your chickens just yet. While it does look good for equality, they anti-gays have until Jun 6th to get the 122,007 certified signatures they need. The current count from the organization running the petition gathering is 47,539 uncertified signatures.

Only 35 days to go, and they've got less than half what they need, and less than a third of their stated goal of 150,000 (between 10%-15% of all signatures are usually invalidated).

Daily Horoscope for June 19

Capricorn

You're feeling slightly unconventional and you're looking for activities that will reflect your mood. You certainly won't be very keen on doing things that are drearily predictable or boring, although you'll grit your teeth and get on with them if you have no choice. But ideally you should do things on the spur of the moment, preferably in the company of people who make you feel alive and alert.
