Janice Ann Johnson commented on a link. 11 hours ago This is still America, Land of the Free. Freedom of Speech, Religion, Assembly, of the Press. I believe that this includes the right to choose, as in Roe Vs. Wade, the law of the land. It also includes the right to equal treatment under the law regardless of color, sex, sexual orientation, ethnicity, etc. There is a higher law. It is called the Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. It's so simple. I believe that President Obama was destined (chosen, if you will) for this time in this place to lead America. And he is working for all Americans despite the obstructionist Congress & those who just don't see the genuine goodness & brilliance of this man. We are loosing the middle class. Let us help President Obama continue to do his good work. Holier than thou attitudes (re: the LGTB) get us nowhere. We must ask ourselves WWJD (What Would Jesus Do? in every situation. Therein lies true Christianity. Jan Johnson, former Kickapoo High Drama teacher/coach.

Nuts aside.... This sounds like a good idea. Having freedom of speech and religion doesn't in my book give you the right to not house someone based on their lifestyle choices.

But ones right to freely associate and own property do. A property owner has no moral obligation to rent his property to those whose lifestyles he finds repugnant. An individual citizen has the right to not associate with others as he chooses. The government has no legitimate authority to compell a landlord to rent to anyone. There may in fact be laws on the books that attempt to impose this type of control, but we have many unjust and immoral laws. Just because something is legal, doesn't make it right or constitutional.

LOLOLOL Your barking up the wrong tree if you're trying to get a rise out of me by insulting religion. I'm not an evangelist crusader seeking to convert others. You atheists seem to be pretty darn intent on converting others and imposing your beliefs on everyone however. I find that both ironic and ripe with hypocracey. The absurdity of your statements is marginally entertaining however.

It's typical of the right wing christianists to claim they're being oppressed when they aren't being given special rights to harm others via unfair discrimination. A person's religion should NEVER be an excuse to violate nondiscrimination laws in this country. What other laws do they think they should be exempt from? Should the members of white supremecist churches be allowed to force people with dark skin out of their businesses or out of the apartments they manage? Should Muslims be allowed to refuse to serve people in their restaurants if they are Christians? Hell No! And neither should so called christians be able to flout nondiscrimination laws when it comes to LGTB people. Religious freedom does NOT equal special rights to discriminate!

Looking at where we are now and what went on back then is eery, very very eery. Shredded morals, constitution, borders, etc etc etc. I guess history does repeat itself after all. http://www.palestinefacts.org/pf_ww1_jewish_r...
