First of all, you're saying that Paul was god, because god didn't write anything about gays, Paul did.

Next, if you follow the "traditional marriage" and say that that's why you oppose gay marriage, why don't you bug all the rape victims? According to the bible, a rape victim must marry her rapist.(Deuteronomy 22:28-29)
Maybe all the kids who swear at their parents (most kids at one point in time will do this) should get the death sentence?(Leviticus 20:9)
By the way, you should love is anyway, the bible teaches live for all.(Leviticus 19:17-18)

Here are just a FEW examples of how you pick and choose/don't know what you're talking about. Either uphold ALL the things it says in the bible, or admit that it's wrong in many things and take everything in the bible with a grain of salt.

I see no reason to bother. Every believer believes something different, something that they've personally tailored to their own tastes. The world is littered with various scriptures, all of them unprovable, all unsupported by any evidence, yet all of them claimed to be absolutely true. Most people appear to adhere to these religions out of family tradition, rather than out of being convinced by evidence.

I don't "think carnally", any more than any other person does. But I DO seek companionship just like any other person. I find (as most studies have) that navigating life is easier, happier, and more successful when done with a partner. For whatever reason, I am not at all attracted to women. Should I pursue a relationship with one ANYWAY? Even though I wouldn't begin to know how to pick one? Even though I would never be attracted to her? Would that be fair to EITHER of us? Is that really how the gods intend for us to live, either completely alone, or faking love in a sham marriage? No thanks.

I don't know anything about any gods, no one really does, and I'm not about to take YOUR word for it. If there's a god who doesn't want me to be gay, then maybe with all his omnipotence he should have made me straight. If the "choice is mine", then I choose PROVABLE claims over myths and fantasy. I choose not to rush into ANY superstitions, without good, solid reasons for doing so. If there's a god who wants to punish me for THAT, and for pursuing the happiness that comes from the only kind of relationship I'm suited for, then so be it. I wouldn't WANT to worship such a tyrant, even IF he were real. I would expect that a REAL god would support my choice to be cautious about claims which bend and defy reality. He ought to be happy that I rely on my brain to reject unbelievable nonsense, rather than gullibly swallow every story I hear.

How did YOU confirm that your religion is true? What method did you use to eliminate all the other religions in the world as false? Did you conduct any tests that can be repeated and demonstrated? Do you have any empirical research to share? Sorry, but without any of that, I would have no way of knowing if the claims of Christianity were true. I would be in danger of following what YOU want, rather than the gods. If they have other plans for me, they can discuss it with me. They should have known ahead of time that sending YOU to speak FOR them, wasn't going to convince me.

No, Dear. You are reading all sorts of things into what I've said.

RELIGION does not foster hate. Sometimes people who claim to be religious do. That is a HUGE distinction.

If, in the name of your religious belief, you vote to harm families and children, if you want gay youth to be marginalized, if you spread fear and lies about a minority group that you don't understand, then yes.

That is hate. By definition.

It makes no difference if you drape that hate in religious terms. It is what it is. It does not matter if you believe otherwise - the proof is in the results - in the harm you do to others who have never and can never harm YOU.

I am a Christian, and I long ago accepted that Jesus is my savior. You are supposed to be my "sibling in Christ". You certainly don't act that way.

The problem is with what YOU believe is sin, and why YOU believe it. You believe untruths about gay folks, and this allows you to feel free to judge what you believe to be another person's sin. You choose to remain ignorant, because it allows you to believe that you alone have the key to God's will. That is always mush easier than to allow other folks to walk their own path to salvation.

I have no issue with the God who made me.

You have a problem with HOW he made me.

And that is something you should be taking up with HIM, and not trying to convince ME that He made a mistake when He created me, decided that I would be only attracted to the same gender, blessed me with loving and deeply "religious" parents, sent me my lovely wife and kids, and blessed my life is no many ways.

I'm gay and while gay guys are certainly born gay, I definitely believe that we are NOT attracted in the same ways, nor for the same reasons. Gay men are not females in male bodies. we're not transgender which is something wholly different.

You apparently mistakenly believe that all gay men engage in anal sex. They don't. I certainly don't. I've been out for over 30 years, and from my experience about 1/3 of gay men don't engage in anal sex at all.

From what I hear and read, anal sex seems to be an activity that's engaged in mostly by str8 people.
