Retreat offering new LGBT treatment option

I hope the marketing ploy re the LGBT unit for the Retreat is successful. As an employee, I must tell you that we have been told to attend mandatory informational meetings where we were told that LGBT lifestyle issues will be openly discussed (using current, popular, though once considered vulgar or inappropriate terms) and validated on the unit. This is directly opposite from the long standing policy of gender, religious, racial, and cultural neutrality the Retreat has long endorsed. We were told during the presentation that staff, who for any reason, were uncomfortable with the cultural atmosphere on the LGBT unit, would have the choice not to be redeployed to the unit. The authoritarian nature of Retreat management does not support this claim. Frequently, staff do get redeployed to other units, and the truth is we do not have a choice, and if we politely decline, I am positive disciplinary supervision will follow.

I'm waiting for our culture to realize the truth again and admit the truth to all the people out there. That's when true healing will begin.
Time will prove that Reality was right to begin with.
