Trespassing leads to a fatal shooting which then leads to a house fire - it all happened in Murphy, North Carolina recently and now investigators are trying to put all the pieces together.

mckinley should have been arrested on the night of the murder. He should not have been allowed to leave the state. The law should apply to everyone. Not to only just poor people. Just because he has money and is it not against the law to have an assault rifle in N.C. Also why was the assistant DA inveatigating was she a friend or relative.

If the victim grabbed the rifle then it was self defense. This has been reported by leos i do not know if it is factual. I do know it would have been easier for the Sheriff to arrest Mr McKinley regardless of the facts and let the da drop the case, it was an act of courage to not just place a charge regardless of the facts. It is good to have the da also investigate as he has to prosecute the case if there is one. Mr McKinleys money is not an issue. The victims friends and family vote in this County Mr McKinley and his friends and family do not.

Betsy- A .223 rifle is not an assault rifle - an assault rifle is fully automatic where the .223 is not! A .223 is owned by many people who hunt deer and other smaller game.
