What a waste of your tax dollars.Legaize-Tax-State Distribute Marijuana. No incarcerations for Non-Violent Drug Offenders. Let Peace Officers fight real heinous crimes for a living like murder, rape and pedophilia, you know crimes against others.

I would like to take a moment to share with all the readers of this story. First the information that has been posted by the news reported is nothing more than false information. The home of gary and lisa burton was indeed raided, how ever upon arriving to the home the police officers was given what was nothing more than enough marijuana for a few cigarettes. This was instintly forfitted to them. The marijuana was been used for health purposes for a very sick man and nothing more. As for the large quantity that is been said was retrevied is false information, not to count the home was being illeagally search with out a warrent. It wasnt untill hours later that the police got a search warrent, but lets talk about the reason the police came to the home in the first place. This reason is simply a personal vendeata of one of the DEA ageants against Mr. Burton. There was absalutly no reason for this raid. What has our justice system become. Is it now just a game that the police like to play to get there kicks. I dont know about you all but personal I dont appereciate my tax dollars being spent for the polices enjoyment. Harrasinig innocent people continuously and never getting any thing time and time again is redicuolos. These people deserve an appology from the police as well as the reporters that are spreading this false information. Good gosh leave these people alone and find the real criminals that are out there hurting and killing our children, the meth cookers, rapest, etc. Some one needs to take a stand and lets get our justice system to doing the right thing instead of using thier athority to get back to people that they have a grudge against. Come on you officers you really need to get you head out of you bottoms.

The last time I checked marijuana is illegal even if it is a small amount. If what you said is true about being such a small amount then so be it. How are the police to know all the time where the "big drugs are". Common sence will tell you that sometimes the small amount will lead you to the mother load. Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. A small amount of dope egualls a misdamener and a large amount equalls a felony. Big or small it's still a crime. I feel pretty good that the Malden Police Department is at least making an attempt. That's more than they did in the last six years. Keep up the good work MPD!

The way for the police to know where the BIG DRUGS(?) are being sold is to LEGALIZE -TAX- STATE DISTRIBUTE the safest mind altering substance in the world. This will take Cannabis off the streets as it will no longer be profitable for street sales. After it is placed/sold behind the counter(they will know where the BIG DRUGS ARE)just like alcohol street sales were eliminated after PROHIBITION.Then the PEACE OFFICERS of the MPD can fight heinous crimes against humanity like rape, pedophilia and murder instead of a petty pot charge.

Sounds to me like you are a dope smoker yourself. Until it is legal people will still go to jail for it. Sounds to me like MPD is doing it's job. If that is what my tax dollar go to then I hope they keep up the good work.

P.S. I bet you voted for Rod Dill also!!??

Yes they did their job,but YOUR situation, tax burden has just begun. Now you get to pay for the Incarcerateds Three Hots and a Cot.You get to pay for,His Attorney,His trial,His judge,His cost and upkeep of the prison while he is lodged there,His Food,His Clothing,His Shoes,His Dental,His Medical His Re-Hab,His Education. Then you get to pay for his parole officer for several years.Oh yes, don't forget that while he is locked up you get to pay for his children through child service programs,Their low/susidized income housing for his family,Their Free medical,Their food stamps,Their Pell Grants. Legalization -Taxation -State Distribution make more sense not incarceratons.Fines and Forfeitures for Non Violent Drug Offenses makes more sense than incarceratons to me. Make the offender pay for his crime instead of us paying for his crime.

just to let "unhappy" know, as a police officer (not in malden ), that incident to arrest we do not have to have a search warrant to search any part of a house that a individual has had free run of the area or any area of the home that the person as been in within a reasonable amount of time, and as long as the owner gives consent we dont have to have a warrant , i just wanted to add dont always believe what you hear on tv , cause
we dont have to do like they do in the movies! i use to believe the same thing until i became a peace officer my self and as far as the drugs (no matter how little ) they may have it is against the law and i feel like if they are breaking the law they should pay for the crime!
GOOD JOB M.P.D !!!!

the malden police department and the drug task force did not have permission to search his house...he gave them all he had when they came to his home...it was a very small amount...they demolished his home and charged him a hugh amount of bond...this was a personal vandeta of a drug task force man...charges should be for what he did have... not for what they wanted to find...makes me loose confidence in our law enforcement ....law officers only job is to protect and serve...not to harass...i hope they have to make a public apolagy to mr burton and his wife...maybe even compensate them for taring their house apart...there was no need in it...

So, what is the difference. We are probably going to pay for most of these things anyway in or out of jail. Don't we pay for most welfare people to live better than us?

The only reason you say that Rod Dill is more of a cop than Bullock will ever be is because obviously Rod let all the people who were messed up in this world of drugs free to do whatever they want. Bullock is actually doing something about it and trying to get as much of it off the streets as possible. The only people probably bad mouthing Bullock are the people out there who are doing the same crap that Dill let them get away with and now are afraid that we finally have a cop doing his job that they might get caught. I am so sick of people bad mouthing the police department here or any other city, when there are things that go on at police stations that none of us know about. If you had someone break into your house, sell drugs to your kids, or murder one of your kin i guarentee you would be calling the police station wanting them to come help you out. You can sit here and badmouth them all you want but as soon as something bad happens to you , you want there help. Doesn't make alot of sense does it???

I agree that cops should stop the sell/use of drugs. Yes I know "weed" is illegal, but ask yourself...WHY? It is not a drug!A drug is a substance made by man...Cocain,Meth,Speed whatever you call it. That is where the DRUG PROBLEMS LIE. Not with a silly old house plant...
