You are an IDIOT! Ever heard of Warren Jeffs? The other scandals at LDS churches? Ever hear of the ancient Greeks and Romans? Ever since there have been 2 males young and or old there has been homosexual and pedophile behavior. It's who we are as human beings. STOP blaming the Vatholic Church for all the problems in the world. Pick up a history book and learn!
OTE who="norbob nebbett"]Paterno is Catholic for sure.
I'm guessing everyone involved is Catholic.
that would explain his technique.

I looked this up. Apparently President Spanier is Jewish.
Paterno is Catholic.
And Sandusky himself is Methodist.
So no, Arkansas, not "everyone involved" is Catholic.
WIKIPEDIA.ORG says that Sandusky is the son of Polish immigrants. 95% chance he's Catholic, not Methodist.

Sexual abuse is sexual abuse. To be indifferent to sin is a sin against God. www.traditio.com
Sexual abuse is being a constant subject in Philadelphia and this is why many people are comparing penn state to Rome. And across the bridge many priests from camden diocese are bragging that "buddies" will soon be exonerated because lack of evidence. The jusice system of nj failed former seminarian Christ Mckelvey of atlantic city. We are all to blame for being in denial and condoning this sick and perverted behavior which is a sin against God.
Penn state "cleaned" house. When is Rome? Instead, of vacationing in Mexico, Pope needs to take action and take care of problems in PHiladelphia.
Many pedoophile novus ordo priests are in court in Philadelphia for sexual abuse, Bishop Rigali of pHiladelphia has been replaced, recently a catholic highschool had basebaseball star coach was molesting boys, and now the Penn State scandal. When are the childen in the tri-state area going to be safe anywhere.(period) The church needs to be an example instead of rewarding cardinal bernie law in Rome. Dallas had its share of sexual abuse scandals and bishop galante was rewarded to position in the camden diocese, NJ and there is no mention at all of his past scandals.
People are wondering when philly diocese and camden, new jersey diocese and Rome will take the action that penn state had to do??!!!
www.traditio.com Paterno and catholic church is discussed on this website which is truly catholic because it doesn't support sexual abusers. In fact this is one of the only Catholic website which has shown great compassion and prayers to victims. I know because I was a victim of sexual abuse by clergy.
Jesus: My house shall be called the house of prayer; but you have made it a den of pedophiles, liars, thieves, and hypocrites!!! based on Mathew 21:13 dRV
Where have you been these last several years? I love how you Penn State people are so supportive of sexual abusers. I suppose if it wasn't part of the football program then it would be okay to make arrests and fire people. But God forbid anyone call out people involved in the football program.

I agree with the post saying this has gone on throughout history. The only fault of any religious orginazations in any scandal is said institution covering it up; they are not the root cause. Accept in some anamolious cult cases. Ungortunatly there are just a lot of sick individuals be they Christian. Buddhist, agnostic, etc. We as a society need to stop making excuses and fry these sick bastards.

Amen to that. I'm not religious in any way but it's sad that's where people want to place the blame. Coaches and players are not gods why must we make excuses for them. Let's not look at any of the good church's may have done but instead exploit the bad individuals associated and then blame them for all the ills of the world

Same method of operation as it has been with the catholic church but for them, right around the world. Bishop learns that a priest abused a child. Bishop moves the perp to another parish on the other side of town. All the other priests in the dicoese are aware of this action, and say nothing. The priests and bishop Lies to the parishioners as to why this priest was moved, denied any wrong doing, and coverups the whole mess telling no one.

The same church leaders who taught us its a grave sin to molest, lie or coverup sin. The very holy men who warned catholics that they could not receive holy communion with sins on their souls unless they repented, but the molesting knowing clergy gave themselves holy communion at every mass they said. HIPOCRACY!

KARMA will always come back and bite you....Penn state officials are just like the catholic church officials except the catholic church mess circles the globe. Penn state is one isolated story that involves a few people.

Jerry Sandusky is Christian. Does it matter? Pedophiles exist all over the
world, they are of any race, religion or ethnic group. They are seriously mentally ill but very difficult to treat. My concern is the children abused get help, frankly they have had to deal with their abuse feelings for many years. They feel the stigma of reporting powerful people. Frankly, it takes a very brave person to open the curtain, especially against the conglomerate sports complex.
Secondly, many heads are rolling. Will this make a change? I hope so. I hope that every mentally ill pedophile seeks help. It only takes brave people to stand up and protect our most precious resource, our children.

What's Jerry Sandusky's religious affiliation?
The answer is: Methodist.
As former Penn State coach Jerry Sandusky faces his accusers on Tuesday for the first time since he was indicted on child sex abuse charges, his pastor of 20 years says he will be there at the courthouse.
Senior Pastor Edwin Zeiders of St. Paul's Methodist Church in State College says he speaks to Sandusky every day, and that will include Tuesday, when Sandusky appears for a preliminary hearing at the Centre County Courthouse.

so many of these pedophiles in the clergy and schools and even the police dept.'s are connected to powerful, people in government, politicis and positions of authority. the strategy is to destroy the children and families who refuse to be silenced. the Penn State Sandusky, McQueary and Joe Paterno cover up is inexcusable and morally devoid of any human feeling for children who have been victimized by all not just Sandusky. All are corrupt and evil.

Agreed - the covering up of the sex scandals is the bigger problem. How do people like that get positions of authority in, of all places, religious organizations??
