You obviously believe a Topix forum is intended to be a place to only express sympathy for the departed. It isn't. It's a site where people openly discuss their perspectives, and opinions as well as their feelings. And just because their opinions or feelings differ from yours does not make them "shitty" people.
When you are able to see beyond your grief, you may be able to see objectivity is a valuable trait that helps preserve life. In the meantime, you should see a therapist who can help you deal with your grief rather than lashing out at people sharing their opinons on a website.

Do you guys have nothing better to do than critcize young men who are no longer with us? All of you guys claim to be perfect, responsible adults who have never done anything stupid to harm your lives before, well I don't believe it. Everyone makes dumb decisions, some turn out worse than others. Yes it was dumb to drive on the runway going that fast, but honestly, there are a lot more dumb things to do.. like drinking and driving which ALMOST everyone has done! So before you point fingers look at yourself and also better watch out, karma might just come back around and get you! RIP Isaac, Devon, Smiley, Jacob and Josh.. you are all very much missed! I love you Isaac!

There might be dumber things to do than what those idiotic boys did, Sunshinegirl, but the odds are, they're not around to talk about it, karma being what it is. No doubt your inability to see this is 'cause you're stuck in the denial stage of grief. But those of us who aren't ARE grateful they took their recklessness and stupidity to a remote place where the rest of us couldn't get hurt. See a therapist; it'll help you get a grip.

What do you consider a dumber thing to do than what these boys did, that resulted in their desths?

Drinking, driving, speeding and youth combined with entitlement from their parents, rather than supervision- sounds like the perfect recipe for early death to me.....which is what happened here, no?

I believe it has been concluded that the driver was not drinking or on drugs. Which means he was on something that most of the posters never had. Testosterone. God Bless these kids and their families.

If alcohol wasn't in the deceased idiots' bodies, and apparently investigators determined there was not, how does an "underage drinking party" relate to the case?

You need to ask the prosecutors that question, since they ARRESTED one of the mothers for hosting a party where minors were drinking- last time I checked, that WAS illegal- stupidity may not be illegal, but it definately resulted in the deaths of 5 boys that night- wouldn't you agree?
They weren;t the sharpest tools in the toolbox that night, were they?
Maybe "mothers" should be instilling better values in their kids and their kids'friends, I dunno- values like, don't race, don't speed, obey rules, rather than providing alcohol and parties, for their rich, over justified children.

Just a thought.
