Iranian F-14 fighter jet crashes in country's south; both pilot and co-pilot killed

They don't have much of an air force to start with. When war comes they can't use their fighter jets or they all go down. Their best is subs but those will be taken out fast because we know where all of them are. Iran doesn't stand a chance in a war with us. War comes within three months or less and Iran will be gone then.

American aircraft have been sitting rusting away in Iran, for as long as the iran iraq war. maintaince and parts that we spend so much money in the defence department on , Has put fast smart and great to fly, high dollar American aircraft sitting on airfeilds rusting away in Iran,They are not ready to fly without American help with maintaince and parts that we have not provided. Iran will have to spend more money as the price of Irans gas is cheap , China if it bypasses NATO boycots , May trade for expensive aircraft and short of American quality, and pay much more as gas is cheap and Iran still needs to pay its internal countrys finaces and food ,for its good people, that should show the world how important nuclear weapons are to North Korea and Iran , It would rather starve its people and waste billions of dollars on wars all over the world , and then ask for food or nuclear weapons will be made , How can America by CHINA goods, from slave labor anymore as they are with Iran , Unless they too work with United Nations, And at the same time China is extending its ocean area for oil and gas for the future, the world is waking up asking for Americas help. The best thing we can do is not buy From China, buy from other countrys like vietnam , india , and countrys who are aware of China pushing its boarders , and violating United Nations territoral boarders and santions, and challanging America.By partnering up with any nation that is anti American like some countrys in South America, And the Panama Canal ect ect,,, its got to stop... buy American we need jobs bring the jobs back home.Or just buy from countrys that are Americas friends they to need our trade.America is no ones fool China.

Amazing. 35 year old fighters, only a 10 year supply of parts plus what could be surreptitiously bought from 3rd party vendors and some of them are still flying? Iran must have Cuban auto mechanics keeping them running.

The darn Russians are sending Iran brand new jets and weapons! Will they throw in a few nukes as well to boot?

These planes are so old and I don't know where the mullahs getting the parts from. Although I feel for the poor pilot that flies this time-bomb, I have no sympathy for the tyrannical regime that runs that country. I should know, I escaped Iran when I was 15. I am now 43 and been living in US for the past 28 years.

I hope that the regime gets overthrown by the people this year. I cannot stand anymore of their zealousness toward the world community where it only hurts the innocent people.

It's easy enough to wipe out an air force. It's an entirely different matter to attempt to wipe out a nation or a people. The Persian people were around a long time before the American empire and will still be around after we are forced to give up our imperial fantasies.
We were in Iraq 10 years. The Iraqi people are still there. A war on Iran will last a lot longer than their air force or our budget.
We can take out their nuclear sites, disable their air defenses and destroy their air force with cruise missiles and drones. We don't need to nuke anything. Not a single US service person should step foot on that soil as an invader.

Not that I supported the second invasion of Iraq, but at no time did the US enter Iraq to wipe out a people or a nation: of course it is still there. There is no reason for a US service person to set foot on Iran. There is no reason any US launched weapon should be used on Iran, unless Iran blockades the straits. Persia as a state died away long ago and only 60% of Iranians are now Persian. Cyrus the Great had his day 2500 years ago. There is no stated goal of wiping out that nation nor the people of Iran, as opposed to what Iranian leaders have said of Israel. Iran is not beloved by its Arab neighbors, and would have no friends in a war; neither China nor Russia is going to go all in over a two-bit shitty theocracy like Iran.
