I try to understand both sides on controversy. I was watching Whale Wars when they were in the Feros Islands. The people there lure Pilot Whales to the beaches where they are dragged onto the beach and slaughtered. The Feroese depend on the whales for food.

While I can understand how the Sea Shepards are against the slaughter of whales, these people depend on the whales for food. The Feros Island are not agriculturally friendly, they cannot grow anything other than potatoes & carrots (root vegetables). I don't see the Sea Shepards coming up with any suggestions of what the Feroese people should substitute for whale. Should the Feroese people starve to death? They claim they do not kill more than they can consume.

They have no interest in the repercussions of what they want.
Their main focus is going out and playing pirates.

I'm convinced that they just use the whales as a vehicle for deviant behavior. If they weren't doing that then they would be spray painting graffiti on subway walls.

The PETA commercial made me laugh. It is so stupid. I can see how real victims of abuse would be offended though. Fish are food. Fish are not people. I purposely tuned in to Gordon Ramsey's chef contest show last night and I will buy as many advertised items as I can to support the show. I may even write a letter to the show in support of using meat and fish and even challenge them to use more wild game meat. I really like veal too. And I have several pairs of leather boots, gloves, shoes, and I might just get some swanky leather pants to show off my tight bum like a rock star. I look forward to hunting deer this fall.

My problem with Gordon Ramsey is his throwing out food that could be used to feed the homeless. It might not be up to par for his standards to serve to customers paying God knows how much he charges. But to just throw it out is wasteful. Why haven't advocates for the homeless approach him to put that food aside to be serve to the homeless that have nothing to eat?

I am sure he sets the garbage can out on the street for the homeless to eat out of, they feel more comfortable eating that way. Dishes are pretentious to them. Plus the "poor" little rats, mice, raccoons, cockroaches etc. get some good eats too!

Who is "forcing" you to do anything?? The FACT is that meat consumption/'animal agriculture' affects EVERYONE. The production in making your greasy corpse burgers is decimating rain forests, over using resources, polluting the water, soil and air. It is

Pretty simple common sense really, yet many anti-veg hardcore meat eaters here just don't ant to hear about anything that may disrupt what they have grown accustomed to. People who care, will want to become better informed and do what ever they can to minimize their impact on others. People who do not care, will make lame excuses, criticize, insult and deny. Here's one. I'm not about to eat a live animal. Of course it's a corpse! If you let the deer/elk/rabbit/whatever population get out of control, they will just starve to death. Some animals need to be sacrificed to feed people. Native Americans at least give thanks to the animal spirit for nourishing their bodies. You don't want to eat meat? You don't have to. But there is no reason to be a jerk to those who do. Or to anybody for that matter. A responsible hunter never leaves a wounded animal. He always finds it and finishes the job. A good hunter kills on the first shot. Cleanly. Some people would go hungry if not for a deer given to them occasionally. Not everyone can afford to go vegan. Especially in winter. Temper your words with compassion for your own species. You never know what kind of battle another is fighting. Kindness matters.
