A look at seven subjects that seriously tick people off

Full story: Eureka Times Standard

Remember comedian George Carlin's 1972 "7 Dirty Words" monologue? It's still controversial, but every one of those words can now be heard on cable TV.

Oh Dave. You forgot Illegal immigrants, medical marijuana, and free public health care. But that would have messed up your dirty seven. And its not global warming it is climate change.

Dave also forgot to mention Talk Radio !

It isn't the dirty seven, it is the dirty 15.

And as the leftists quickly take over everything, the list is growing.

BTW Dave, nobody but a few kooks believe "birthers". Just as only a few kookie leftists believe the "truthers".

Here is a more accurate list for your edification.

- Global Warming, Gun control, Abortion, Capital punishment, Wall Street, Race, Environmentalists, Government health insurance, Welfare, Talk Radio, Government spending & taxes, The new "morality", War on Terror, The obama & Red Light runners.

<I ran out of ideas of the top of my head & had to add the red light jumpers to finish the list of 15!)

And a question. Carlin's "Dirty 7 words" was shocking at the time. Are we better off as a society now that those words are heard every day on the elementary school playgrounds ?

Those are ALL great subjects you brought up Jeff. This list was just a subjective one compiled by a committee of one...me. I hoped readers would offer other subjects and you did just that.

As far as the seven dirty words...it's really sad that they are so common these days. We hear them on TV and other media (radio, movies, ect.)so often they no longer have an impact.

Frankly, I'm at a loss for finding a really good scathing word that isn't common now.

That does it! It still says I'm in Tyler Texas...I always wondered what it would be like to explore the "Outer Limits" of cyberspace reality.

a "birther" is an idiot who believes that obama has a REAL birth certificate. He doesn't, and that is why you stupid obama zombies get so angry about it.

And ya get even angrier when I point out how much money obama is spending to keep his birth certificate and school records secret.

how much money is obama spending? MORE THAN HE EARNS.

The location of Obama's birthplace is central to many of the legal challenges that have been brought alleging he does not meet constitutional requirements to be president.

WND has reported on dozens of legal challenges to Obama's status as a "natural born citizen." The Constitution, Article 2, Section 1, states, "No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President."

Some of the lawsuits question whether he was actually born in Hawaii, as he insists. If he was born out of the country, Obama's American mother, the suits contend, was too young at the time of his birth to confer American citizenship to her son under the law at the time.

Other challenges have focused on Obama's citizenship through his father, a Kenyan subject to the jurisdiction of the United Kingdom at the time of his birth, thus making him a dual citizen. The cases contend the framers of the Constitution excluded dual citizens from qualifying as natural born.

Complicating the situation is Obama's decision to spend sums estimated in the hundreds of thousands of dollars to avoid releasing a state birth certificate and other documentation that would put to rest all of the questions.

The "Certification of Live Birth" posted online and widely touted as "Obama's birth certificate" does not in any way prove he was born in Hawaii, since the same "short-form" document is easily obtainable for children not born in Hawaii. The true "long-form" birth certificate – which includes information such as the name of the birth hospital and attending physician – is the only document that can prove Obama was born in Hawaii, but to date he has not permitted its release for public or press scrutiny.

Oddly, though congressional hearings were held to determine whether Sen. John McCain was constitutionally eligible to be president as a "natural born citizen," no controlling legal authority ever sought to verify Obama's claim to a Hawaiian birth.

Dave, you also forgot the one topic that seems to make pretty much everyone squirm with discomfort - global overpopulation. So much so that it's almost never discussed outside of science circles. Even most 'environmentalists' don't want to address it because they want to have kids just like everyone else.

That's cool about the birth certificate. Could you get one to demonstrate just how easy it is? I would love to see that. I think you'll probably find the birth certificate next to the WMD in Iraq that GWB said were there. Surely if you believed him you'll believe anything.

Just because an abortion opponent also happens to practice a religion, doesn't mean that the reasons the person opposes abortion are arbitrary or to oppress women. Most pro-lifers base their reasoning on scientific facts that can be found in medical texts. They believe that it is a taking of a life. Just because it resides in a mother doesn't make it any less a person. I'm not wanting to debate this issue in this forum, rather, my point being: keep my religion out of it!

At the time of Rowe vs Wade, the practice of abortion in the U.S. was documented rather well, in my opinion, in a book "Doctors of Conscience - The struggle to provide Abortion before and after Roe v Wade", by Carole Joffe, Beacon Press, Boston. 1995. I see no reason to believe these practices would change much after Abortion is banned.

I don't care what anyone says, if a woman does not want to hold a baby in her body that is her decision. I point to all the pro lifers who never adopted a child! I am totally against abortion for myself, I would never have one, but that is my decision. I would never criticize someone for having to make a difficult choice that works in their life. The only people who are allowed to preach pro life are people who are vegan, adopted a child, against capital punishment or just completely against killing. These people would never kill a spider, let alone a baby. Everyone else can just shut up. See, controversy abounds.

So don't have one! But you have no right to tell others what to do. And having the word "believe" makes it religious, as in "They believe that it is a taking of a life".
YOu can "believe" whatever you want, but keep your "beliefs" off of my body.
Scientific facts...yeah right.

There is no life without death. Vegans eat bread? Dead yeasts. Carrots? DEAD! Celery? DEAD! Completely against killing? Impossible.
