Last year they had this idiot talk about sex.
What he said was repeated in the classroom a hundred times.
Bad science, and a bunch of false psychology crap.
But some people bought it all, including the holyer than thou teachers.
Two years ago they had the "Band of Blessing" come in.
Taught fear and hate of Muslims.
Taught Islam is the devil's conspiracy.
Taught us lies about what Muslims believe.
And as if "what they believe" is some mono-lithic list.
WCA does not prepare you for reality.
It does not recognize the diversity and beauty of cultures.
Everything that does not line up with their teaching is "of the devil".
It's all there.
And if you missed it, I'm sure they taped it.

Thanks for the response. From you comments about last year and the year before, I assume you graduated last year, but then you alluded to your still having a job...so dont really know..but in any case I would assume you went there recently. My children are both recent and current. I was interested in your reference to Chapel. I listen to every podcast of Chapel and I dont recall these specific issues being addressed. Anyone who wants to listen to the chapel podcasts can go to the Westminster website and listen to them going back 3 years I think.I think it is really important for all parents to listen to them and have made a point of that to better understand what my children are hearing. I personally have found these pretty uplifting and valuable for the whole family. I remember listening to Albert Pujol's wife speak about her experiences in High School. She talked about her life before finding Christ and some of the pitfalls she fell prey to in her teenage years. It made great dinner table conversation and really gave us a chance as a family to discuss a lot of topics...Anyway, there have been many podcasts that i have found helpful. I have never heard anything on these condemning other cultures, or "any idiot talking about sex" etc but if you have some specifically you are referring to, that I can relisten too, let me know. I would be happy to review, maybe I missed something...Again, everyone listen to them on the Westminster website..judge for yourself..

If MIP “listens to every podcast”, they’re on the WCASTL site weekly, or so you would think, since Chapels are held weekly.

MIP says they listen to EVERY podcast “To better understand what my children are hearing…” Going to the site for “every podcast” surely MIP would see entries are put on the site LONG after they’re actually given; 8/15/08 entered on 1/23/09 (along with ten others from 8/15/08 to 1/07/09; count the weeks, people, many are missing and certainly not the "three years, I think...." of podcasts -- does this really sound like someone who goes to the website to listen to the podcasts or someone who's trying to convince readers WCASTL is "open & caring" despite what's said in Topix? WCALSTL ISN'T.

How exactly can you have a better understanding of what your children are hearing months after they hear it and how can you have “dinner conversations” on this “valuable information” that’s so long ago and only you have current memory of what was said from what you heard listening to a Podcast?

Is that what you expect when you pay a private school tuition to let the school's communication be that far behind what they're doing?

Did you know there aren’t any Podcasts out on the site since the 2009-2010 school year started and that was six weeks ago at this time and many were missing from the time periods actually posted. But MIP is “well informed” by WCASTL, right?

So why write what MIP did? Perhaps it’s all about what you can be led to believe, what can be said and what must be left unsaid or maybe it’s because all students and parents live in fear of reprisals as the Handbook tells them “if they bring discredit to WCASTL". Read that booklet closely and watch out for those "broad general terms" -- they've been used so many times to force withdrawals and expulsions that weren't warranted.

In rereading Ben’s comments; he didn’t say he listened to the Podcasts but advised others to do so; maybe he doesn’t realize they’re edited and made to show only positives about the school?

Who puts up these Podcasts? Should be the school Tech coordinator. He’s one of the Significant Seven-- seven highest paid employees and second highest next to Head of Upper School.

In 2007 according to WCASTL’s Form 990,(Open to Public Inspection)Tech corordinator received compensation of $88,965 and benefit plans of $13,099 – that’s over $100,000 – must be quite a bit higher now, unless he’s fallen out of favor, that is. And with his input and a highly paid Director of Advancement (also above $100,000 in compensation) is that all they can produce? That one section under Advancement, by the way is a “STOCK” website/pages inclusion obtained by paying an outside company to insert their “individual school info” into a standard format. More of your money spent to better “showcase” WCASTL!

Why is the Tech coordinator paid so much? Above the Head of Middle School, for example, who you’d think had a job with more responsibility. Food for thought, isn’t it?

You make your own decision if WCASTL really “shares” with families; really cares about the community; really supports the families it admits to the school and really is a good steward of what they receive.

WHY HAS WCASTL CHOSEN TO STOP SUPPORTING INVISIBLE CHILDREN? A charity Administrators approved, allowed the organization to come to Chapels to present and sell their products and then encouraged the children to donate their spare change and parents to contribute for two years; the second year they were working toward becoming the “biggest contributor” to the cause. How much did WCASTL raise for this charity: in excess of $30,000 as best can be determined; a little more research needs to be done to check these figures.

Perhaps someone read what contributors to Topix on WCASTL submitted and actually did the homework their CPA Business Manager (second highest paid employee with well over $120,000 in take home pay) should have done before they went all out to support an organization whose Form 990 cannot even substantiate if even 30% of the monies Invisible Children collects actually get to the children in Uganda let alone “build a school” as claimed.

POOR STEWARDSHIP ONCE AGAIN CAN BE SEEN AT WCASTL. Leadership that fails to follow Biblical teachings not just in this area but in so many others. Eyes are opening, WCASTL, they are seeing even if you choose not to the many years of errors, omissions and commissions that have harmed and not been in the best interest of the students and families. IMPORTANT: Invisible Children now states it’s a “social, political and global movement”– a lot more than just building schools in Africa; make sure you understand what you’re doing when you provide money to any organization.

As always, a private school education is a choice, an investment for your family and each child you send. Read, research, check it out.

Decisions are being made daily by parents about which private school deserves their time, attention, entrustment of their children and their family's money.

WCASTL is a Not For Profit Public Benefit Corporation expempt from paying tax dollars to the community and dependent on the public trust for continuity. Trust entails answering questions about activities, interests, actions, support.

We who are "nobodys" are writing, reading and acting accordingly to Truth and Light.

BTW, the lives of children and their families, their education and how they perceive the world as well as the prejudices they take with them the rest of their lives are very important topics to those of us who care about those things.

Through forgiveness he finally finds relationship with God again and in the process gets his life back. It's a very powerful lesson, to let go and let God. To stop seeking revenge and trust God to lead you through your pain.

Has anyone read The Bible? Mark 9:42 NIV:

Various denominations interpret The Bible differently; WCASTL also has their own interprtations they teach daily in their school -- it's like another religious denomination.

They also teach this about Buddhism, Jainism, Judaism and all “Christians” who don’t believe what they teach (turning some students against their family’s own beliefs). They denigrate cultures filled with feast days, loving family reunions and beautiful traditions. They ignore the peace teachings, complex philosophical and theological developments and the denominational differences of a complex belief system(s). Would you appreciate anyone doing this to Christians/you? WCA teaches anger, fear and hatred in the guise of “reaching out in love”.

I have read through these blogs and it is so obvious the bitterness the pro-Westminister peeps feel toward anyone who has had a negative experience at the school.

The school was not a haven but a place where you were either an outcast or part of the "in" crowd and thus you must stay very close to your little group and hate on everyone who isn't you.

I experienced both sides of that fence with my interaction at WCA. Both extremes as any extreme (religion) bring about pain. One makes you obviously feel ostercized the other makes you feel better than others. WCA encourages the groups with their staff and counselors. "what can be done?" Sheri.

It's only a "christian" school with "christlike" characteristics. What a blasphemous thing to even pretend that people who are blogging pro WCA are christlike at all. Hate, biggotry, demeaning, manipulative.
